Suicide Awareness Voices of Education
"The mission of SAVE is to prevent suicide through public awareness and education, reduce stigma and serve as a resource to those touched by suicide."
"Let's talk about it."
Suicide is often the result of a mental disorder.
These mental disorders could range from Bipolar disorder to Schizophrenia but the leading cause of suicide is depression. Often, suicide is a result of when these disorders go untreated or when drugs and alcohol are thrown into the mix. Depression is the main cause of suicide and was the #1 disability in the world in 2010. These mental illnesses that people deal with on a day to day basis aren't only effecting the person who has it, but others around them as well. Not all people with these mental disorders will come right out with it. Often then will try an hide it from others due to embarrassment. That's why it is important for us to realize the symptoms of depression so we can help others to get better. We want to help the depression before it becomes suicide.
