Reminders and Updates from Dr. Bonneau
Happy Friday, Bronco Nation!
Bookbags: Students will not be able to carry any bag larger than a wallet on campus the last week of school. this will be May 22nd-25th.
Final Exams & Exemptions: Final exams are the week of May 22-25. Exemption information for students and parents can be found in this document. Please review it with your student carefully and verify everything before hitting submit. Changes will not be made once submitted. The deadline to request an exemption is 11:59pm on Sunday, May 21.
Off Campus Activity: Please talk to your students about the requirement that they stay on campus all day. We have more and more students that we are catching across the street at one of the restaurants or at the private park in the neighborhood behind the school. Students caught off campus during the day will have consequences for skipping class and leaving campus.
Let's CELEBRATE! If you have had an experience with someone at Legacy and want to give them a "shout out", please send me their name and a brief explanation. We would love to make someone's day! My email address is stephaniebonneau@misdmail.org.
As usual, please reach out if you have any questions!
Important Upcoming Dates
May 22-25: Spring Final Exams
May 27: LHS Graduation
NO BAGS MAY 22nd-25th
To ensure a safe and successful end of school year, we want to make you aware that backpacks will not be allowed on our campus starting on Monday, May 22 through the last day of school on Thursday, May 25. This measure is being taken out of an abundance of caution in protecting the safety of students and staff.
Students will only need to bring school-issued devices, a writing utensil and semester exam review materials. Please know that students who might need to carry small hygiene bags or medical monitoring devices will be allowed to do so.
Cell phones will be allowed on campus in accordance to Mansfield ISD’s Student Handbook (page 46) as follows:
For safety purposes, the district permits students to possess personal mobile telephones;
however, these devices must remain turned off during the instructional day, including during all testing, unless they are being used for approved instructional purposes.
If a student uses a telecommunications device without authorization during the school day, the device will be confiscated. The parent may pick up the confiscated telecommunications device from the principal’s office for a fee of $15.
As a campus, we will maintain high expectations for student behavior in accordance with MISD’s Student Code of Conduct, there will be increased student monitoring and supervision by staff. Those in violation will face the necessary consequences, including recommendations for the Behavior Intervention Center (BIC) or Disciplinary Alternative Education Program (DAEP) to start at the beginning on the school year if warranted.
If you have any questions regarding these changes for the week of May 22 please do not hesitate to contact us.
Thank you for your cooperation and support as we continue to work together to keep our students and staff safe.
