Humanities Book Club
Spring 2021
Would you like to share your voice and insights regarding the current issues in our world and in our nation? Would you like to learn the historical connections to the current events? You can be part of a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of the inaugural “Humanities Book Club.” We are pleased to announce that the book of choice is the highly anticipated new release by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi, Stamped: Racism, Anti Racism, and You. The attached link provides a wonderful interview by the authors discussing the book that will provide you with some background.
All of our community stakeholders, parents, staff, etc. are welcomed to join. The club will meet in four sessions virtually to discuss select chapters and to engage in activities that relate to the reading. Recent events have challenged us as a nation to not only have courageous conversations about societal ills but also to take action on matters that relate to Social Justice. The book club is an inviting, safe, and respectful platform to engage in this process. The meeting dates are listed below, and a Google Meet invitation will follow after you have registered for the club.
