TJH Update #39
May 13, 2020
A Message from Dr. Mitzner
I've enjoyed seeing you all as we adjust to life during this pandemic. I shared this article with you previously but if you are experiencing a discomfortable feeling related to the end of the school year - know that discomfortable feeling is grief. Click here to read the article from Harvard Business Review.
We are going to send out our annual awards via email next week. Our yearbooks have not been delivered yet so we will contact you as we have them to distribute.
This 8th grade class deserves a little bit of fun to finish the year so we are hosting a car parade on Thursday, May 21st at 9am. Teachers & Staff will be lining the sidewalk and drive (six feet apart for social distance) with bubbles! We hope you will take the time to drive through our car rider line to celebrate them!
Speaking of celebrating, we surprise our Volunteers of the Year nominees with year signs. We presented to the nominees: Lynell Duncan, Corise Young, Tammy Brown, and Laura Tolle. Please join me in congratulation our 2019-20 Volunteer of the Year, Cathleen Pittman.
No one can predict the future - but I have included our Back to School Events calendar for 2020-21 for you to Save the Dates!!
Please sign up to drop off and collect your items! We will be donating all remaining items at the end of the school year!
Regards,
Dr. Kris Mitzner
Principal
Tays Junior High
You can still sign up to DROP OFF AND COLLECT YOUR ITEMS!
On Wednesday, May 13th through Friday, May 15th, we will have DROP OFF AND COLLECTION procedures. At this time, students may access the building to pick up personal belongings as well as drop off any items they may have (Athletic/PE uniforms, technology, library books, classroom books borrowed from teachers, textbooks, instruments, etc.) Please park in the front of the building and enter through the main entrance. The following procedures will be followed:
A maximum of 20 students every 30 minutes will be allowed in the building
Only those that are signed up will be allowed inside the building
If you have multiple students attending TJH we understand you will want to come to the building once; however each child needs a separate sign up slot
A face mask/covering must be worn inside the building
Face masks will not be provided. All entering the building must provide their own face mask/covering
Students may bring a bag/box to gather items
If your student needs to pick up an item from band, orchestra, or choir, please contact the director for a specific time.
Any items not collected by May 15th will be donated (this includes items in lockers)
Over the next few days you will be receiving emails from teachers and staff in regards to the item(s) your student needs to collect and/or drop off.
We ask that this form be completed for EACH student at Tays Junior High to communicate how you will participate in our processes. Please click HERE to complete the form.
