DR - Phase 2 Training - October 2017
SBTC Disaster Relief Training for those people who want to be able to help after a disaster strikes. You must meet certain qualification to be trained.
Phase 2 Training (Team Leader Training)
SBTC Disaster Relief Phase 2 Training focuses on the training of team leaders.
The following are prerequisites for this training:
- Must have completed Phase I specialty training in the same selected ministry area for Phase 2.
- Must have completed Chain Saw School for Clean-up and Recovery
- Must complete CPR and Basic First Aid (can be received from American Red Cross, or American Heart Association, or other nationally recognized provider of this specialized training).
- Must be recommended by Unit Director for the training.
Phase 2 Training will cover the following:
Advanced training in the selected ministry area.
Attention will be given to Team Leader responsibilities:
Team member care.
Disaster Relief reporting.
ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST MAKE THEIR OWN HOTEL ARRANGEMENTS!

Chaplaincy
Phase 1 Chaplaincy is a Pre-Requisite to this course long with having been deployed at least once. In this session the Disaster Relief Chaplain will focus on self-preparedness, ministering in disasters, follow up, and evangelism.

Clean-up & Recovery
Phase 1 Clean-Up is a pre-requisite to this course along with having been deployed at least once. This session will focus on the training and formation of Clean Up and Recovery Team Leaders.

Feeding
Phase 1 Feeding is a pre-requisite to this course along with having been deployed at least once. This session will focus on mass feeding strategies, food ordering, propane and electrical safety, load master training, and a table top feeding drill.

Shower/ Laundry
Phase 1 Shower/ Laundry is a pre-requisite to this course along with having been deployed at least once. This session will focus on the training and formation of Shower/ Laundry Team Leaders.
To volunteer to be trained as an SBTC Disaster Relief Volunteer, YOU MUST :
- Be an active member of a Southern Baptist church.
- Have a letter of recommendation from the Pastor on church letterhead for the individual(s) from that church.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be in good health.
- Have a servant heart.
