All Saints Outreach News
November
So much to give thanks for this month!
Due to your donations, we provided nearly 2,000 diapers and 20 boxes of wipes to Catholic Community Services foster families as well as a dozen quilts made by our All Saints Quilters.
Thanks to the generosity of our parishioners and school families, we provided 139 Thanksgiving baskets to food bank guests and school district families. As we enter the Advent season, let us emulate St. Martin de Porres in continuing to generously care for the poor and outcast. St. Martin, pray for us.
Giving Tree
Our Giving Tree is virtual this year! Gifts will benefit our brothers and sisters of all ages who are in need. When signing up, please read the instructions for returning the gifts. For example, some gifts will require that you wrap them and others can be given directly online. Please attach your sign-up confirmation to any wrapped gifts. All gifts should be brought to the parish by December 11.
Contact Morningstar in the parish office if you have any questions. Helpers are needed to check in gifts at weekend Masses and deliver gifts.

Grants
All Saints is thankful for the City of Puyallup for providing CARES Act funding to assist in the 2020 Housing Support Program. We were granted additional funds, so if you know someone who needs help, please have them call the Community Services Office. Deadline to apply is November 27.
"Thank you so much for what you were able to do. This is such a huge blessing and a load off of my mind. Thank you again for showing such kindness and caring during a time when we haven’t seen it very often."
In addition, we received a grant of $1,000 from The Norcliffe Foundation to support our Homelessness Prevention Program.
Paying it Forward
We recently received the sweetest letter with a donation to All Saints Community Services. A parishioner had just been to Fred Meyer where someone in front of her paid for her groceries.
In her letter she wrote, "I am 'paying it forward' and adding a small amount of my own in gratitude for the kindness shown. I hope that this Good Samaritan's gift and my own small one will bless some of those who come to your doors for help."
We are honored to share this, and all the many blessings from our parishioners, with those in our community!
Blue Envelopes
As we enter into the winter months, our requests for rent and utilities assistance tend to rise. Consider donating online or return your blue envelopes to the collection basket or parish office. Thank you, as always, for your generosity!
"Thank you for just being you"
Even though our Community Services volunteers do the important work of connecting people with food and financial assistance, they are also doing the essential work of listening. We recently received this appreciation from one of the people we helped:
I appreciate the love, the kindness and your help.
I am having a hard time with holding on. Having you to talk to has caused me to cry each time I talk to you. Which helps release some of my pain.
Your kindness you give me each time we talked has helped me not give up.
Again thank you for just being you and sharing your kind words to me.

Grieving with Great Hope
This series, available on FORMED, is prayerful, practical, and personal. It has helped thousands of people who are grieving the loss of a loved one. The title comes from 1 Thessalonians 4:13, in which St. Paul tells the Thessalonians, "Let us not grieve as others who have no hope."
Centering Prayer Workshop
Our neighboring parish, Holy Disciples, is offering the following opportunity on Saturday, December 12th.
Centering Prayer is a method of contemplative prayer which has been described as “God’s personal and unique gift to us” and has been a part of our Christian heritage for centuries. Learn the basics of this method, discuss your experiences, ask questions, and practice the prayer together.
High school students through senior adults are welcome.
The program will be presented by Sr. Anna-Camille from St. Placid Priory and Mary Solberg, both experienced practitioners of Centering Prayer
