NO SCHOOL - SPRING BREAK
Notes From the Principal
March is filled with a lot of opportunity for students to show what they know! They have been working hard and reflecting on their progress this school year and setting goals so they may end the school year strong. Thank you for making time to attend the Student Led Conferences. If you would like an additional time to meet with your child's teacher, please reach out them to schedule a meeting. Additionally, I will be available March 6th and 7th. Pease let me know if there is anything that I may assist with as well.
Another opportunity for students to show what they know begins the week before spring break for our 3rd-5th graders. They will begin taking the FORWARD test starting on Tuesday, March 19. Teachers plan to send out the specific days they intend to test. This assessment measures each child's progress toward meeting grade level standards. There are multiple test sessions that get scheduled in March and April. This is a wonderful time to encourage healthy eating and sleeping habits so students can do their best.
STUDENT ABSENCE REMINDER
Please notify the office when your student is going to be late or absent. For late arrivals we would need the students hot lunch choice by 9:00 AM, unless they are bringing a cold lunch.

NOTICES:
Our bylaws must be reviewed every 3 years. At our last meeting we formed a bylaws committee to review and make changes as needed to our current bylaws. Bylaws must be posted for 30 days and then a vote to adopt the new bylaws must occur. You can find a copy of the updated bylaws via the following link. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Ej49a07Uo88IOlwO7bNN7EiOc7PuD4Xc/edit
They will be presented and voted on at our April meeting.
Each of our board positions is a 2 year term. Our positions up for re-election this year are Vice President and Treasurer. We formed a nomination committee at our last meeting where members are in charge of recruitment and nomination. These nominations will be announced at our March meeting and will then be voted on during our April meeting. If you are interested in running for either of these positions, please email us at rockfieldpta@gmail.com. You can find a description of duties for these positions included in our bylaws at the link above. Please also email with any questions about what the position entails.
We will be hosting our spring book fair April 8th-12th and our family paint night on April 12th. We will need volunteers for both! Please visit the links to sign up for a volunteer spot.

Notes from the Health Room
Hello Rockfield families!
Please remember that with the cold temps and snow we do still go outside daily unless the temps fall below 0 degrees so make sure your children are bundled up and ready to have fun outside!
With the falling temps also comes the winter colds, flu and other illnesses. Please keep your child home if they are not feeling well and/or have a temp over 100, diarrhea, an uncontrollable cough, thick mucus/very runny nose or has vomited in the past 24 hours. They may return 24 hours after symptoms have subsided without the use of medication.
Medication that needs to be taken at school must be brought in by the students guardian and the proper form must be filled out by the parent and/or doctor if it is a prescription. This includes cough drops, eye drops and all over the counter medication. https://5il.co/rphd https://5il.co/rphe

Your child will NOT be allowed to stay for Kids Klub by you sending a note or yellow attendance slip to Rockfield School. You MUST contact the Parks and Recreation office. All Cancellations & Registrations can only be done by contacting the Recreation Department at 262-250-4710.

RITEWAY BUS COMPANY - IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please be advised of the following changes/updates from Riteway Bus Company.
- ADDING/REMOVING A STUDENT TO A ROUTE:
- If a family wants their student to begin or stop taking the bus they must notify Riteway (262)677-3282.
- STUDENT DROP OFF CHANGE:
- If a family needs to change the drop off location (i.e. student now going to daycare) a special transportation form needs to be completed, returned to the school office, and signed by Dr. Croatt. The signed form will be emailed to Riteway and Riteway will confirm and/or deny the request.
- STUDENT GOING HOME ON SAME BUS BUT GETTING OFF AT A DIFFERENT STOP:
- Students going home on the same bus but getting off at a different stop need a note signed by their parent/guardian so the school and the driver are aware of the change.
- STUDENT GOING HOME ON A DIFFERENT BUS:
- This is ONLY allowed in the event of a family emergency and will ONLY be on an as needed basis. A note/email/phone call should be sent by the parent regarding the emergency so that the school and Riteway are aware of the situation and can convey what route and classmate the student will go home with for that evening.
