Oak Hills Newsletter
Week of April 1 & 8, 2024
Message from the Principal
Dear Oak Hills Families,
Welcome back from Spring Break! We hope your children had a restful week off. If they had a hard time getting up or expressed not wanting to go to school today, we saw no signs of that once they arrived. Tired? Yes. Reengaging with routines? Yes. Smiling and laughing with friends again? Yes:)
On Thursday, all students will be attending an OMSI assembly, one of the many enrichment opportunities funded by the Jog-a-Thon annual fundraiser. The assemblies will be for Grades K-2 and 3-5. We are excited to host OMSI to kick off STEM Family Night which will be next Thursday, April 4th!
Please review the PTO News below when you have a moment. There is a call for volunteers to support clubs and Science Fair/Family STEM Night. Thank you so much for considering these opportunities!
Mark your calendars:
*No School--Monday, 4/8 Grading Day
*No School--Tuesday, 4/9 Staff Development Day
*Thursday, April 11 STEM Night 5-7pm
Note:Next family newsletter will be sent on Monday, 4/15. Reminders about STEM Family Night and other news will be sent via ParentSquare next Wednesday, 4/10.
*Wednesday, April 17 Spring Music Showcase Kindergarten 4:30pm and 2nd Grade/ALC (Seitz) 5:30pm

Last Full Week before the Oak Hills Elementary Science Fair & Two More Opportunities for Science Fair Support!
Our LAST LunchTime Science Club before the Science Fair will be held this Tuesday, April 2nd.
Ms. Anna Vallee (Oak Hills Technology Teacher) will be having after-school office hours on Thursday April 4th in combination with an After-school Science Club from 2:35 - 3:30pm. We will be happy to answer questions about projects and will have supplies available to help with the display boards.
We are looking for folks who would be willing to offer 90 minutes of their time on Thursday, April 11. We are hoping that each of our nearly 60 projects will be reviewed by either an adult with STEM knowledge and experience or some of our middle school and high school students who have a strong enthusiasm for STEM. Forms/ Instruction Sheet/ and brief intro provided before meeting with groups. Each reviewer will be asked to meet with only four projects.

Helpful Website Buttons--Report Absences and Going Home Plan Changes
Absences and dismissal changes can be reported to us via the Oak Hills website. There are buttons where you can click and report an absence or changes to how your child will be going home.
For dismissal, please do your best to report the changes before 1:00pm since this is when we will be delivering the information to our teachers and students. If it is after 1pm, please call the main office to report the change and not the website button.
Thank you in advance for utilizing this communication tool. It will free up our phone lines for families, staff, and community members who urgently need to get in touch with the office.
