Falcon Forum
Principal Point
I hope you are all enjoying your summer, and hopefully getting out with family and friends for some adventure. I enjoyed my time off, and I am now back in the office getting geared up and excitied for a new school year! I am hopeful and expect a return to many of our traditions and activities that make junior high school fun and memorable for our students. I very much look forward to seeing our returning Falcons, and greeting our newest Falcons as they come back to school here soon.
You will find important information in this Falcon Forum regarding upcoming dates, athletics and activities. Our office will be open on August 2nd, please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime.
Go Falcons!
-Mr. Ryan

Updates For The Upcoming School Year
At Fairmont we will continue to:
Focus on hand-sanitizing/hand-washing
Disinfect surfaces frequently
Follow district protocols for overall illness procedures
Continue to train and educate staff, students, and parents on key safety practices
Athletics - continue to follow District and SIC guidelines
Changes at Fairmont from last year:
Face coverings encouraged for all unvaccinated students, staff and visitors
Face coverings optional for vaccinated students, staff, and visitors
Gathering requirements eased (assemblies and dances can resume)
Return to pre-pandemic visitor protocols
Consider field trips on a case by case basis
- Lockers: PE and Athletic lockers will be issued to our students. Academic lockers will be issued by request and administrator approval only. We found so many benefits in not using academic lockers last year during the pandemic. The tremendous ammount of noise and commotion that lockers create in our hallways, students being tardy more often while visiting with friends at their lockers, and the some of the issues of what is being stored in some lockers are all things we did not miss. When I say "we", I do mean the majority of our staff and students. The overwhelming message from our students last year is that we like having our backpacks and don't miss lockers, our staff feels the same way. If your child needs an academic locker for extenuating circumstances, please let me know. Thank you!
2021-2022 Registration Day
If you are getting this newsletter, it means your student(s) are already registered and have classes assigned for this coming school year. We would like to provide an opportunity for our students to come to Fairmont prior to the first day of school, think of it as a Welcome Back Day. On that day your student can:
- pick up their schedule (they are also available that day through Infinite Campus)
- turn in medical forms and any paperwork not already submitted or completed on-line
- check out school devices if needed (all 7th graders and new to district students), fill out the BSD Responsible Use form, and opt into or out of the $25 Device Deposit agreement in case of damage.
- gather information regarding extracurricular opportunities at Fairmont
- order spirit wear
The schedule is as follows:
7th Grade - August 4th, 8:30 - 11:30
8th Grade - August 5th, 8:30 - 11:30
9th Grade - August 5th, 1:00 - 3:30
We look forward to seeing our Falcons!
