Kingston Hill Academy
April/May Chief Administrator Update
April 28, 2024
Greetings Kingston Hill Academy!
I am beyond excited to be joining the Kingston Hill Academy Team on May 1st as the newly appointed Chief Administrator. I can’t wait to meet all of you and have heard such wonderful things about the staff and school community. In addition to board meetings, I was in the building this past Friday organizing my office space and it was so nice to meet some of the staff as they left for the day and the weekend. I thank you for all the helping hands and warm greetings. Please be patient with me as I learn everyone’s names and roles and navigate different aspects of the school community beginning on Wednesday. Mr. V. (Drew) and the board have been an asset to my transition and I am looking forward to our leadership partnerships this year and years to come!
I feel it is important for all of you to learn a little bit about myself as I learn about all of you. I currently live in Westerly with my husband, Josh and my two girls, Mollie and Mallorey. When I’m not at school, I enjoy reading, being active outside, and spending time at the beach with my family and friends. I also love to shop as well! Being an educator and leader has always been a passion in my life and I am thankful to continue my journey with all of you.
I graduated with an undergraduate degree in education from Rhode Island College in 1996 and with a graduate degree in education from Walden University in 2004. In June of 2019, I graduated from the Principal Residency Network with a certification in Administration.
Prior to becoming a Principal in 2019, I served as a Dean of Teaching and Learning and an Aspiring Principal at Dunn’s Corners School. Throughout my career, I have been employed as a classroom teacher, special education teacher, enrichment specialist, Dean and Curriculum Leader by Westerly Public Schools. From 2019 until presently I continued my career with The Foster District as a Principal of Captain Isaac Paine Elementary School and The North Kingstown District as The Principal of Hamilton Elementary School where I gained a multitude of experience and knowledge which will be an asset in my transition to Kingston Hill Academy. I am grateful for all my experiences which have molded me to the leader and educator I am today and afforded me this excellent opportunity with all of you at KHA.
I look forward to meeting and working with all of the staff members, students, and families at Kingston Hill Academy. I can’t wait to dive into the school year and begin my new adventures and journey with all of you. I’m looking forward to a great end to the school year and the new school year to come! I believe that together we can accomplish even greater things!
Please feel free to email me @mclark@kingstonhill.org.
Sincerely,
Marcella Terranova Clark
Chief Administrator
