Principal's Message
Last night, I was able to take part in honoring Mrs. Strong at the OPIE awards ceremony- Outstanding Person In Education. We are lucky enough to have Mrs. Strong at Lincoln. As part of the evening, she was “crowned” the OPIE winner for all of PSP. We are extremely proud! At the ceremony, a Lincoln family father from many years ago, Carlin Smith gave a great speech on why teaching is so important. He quoted many great quotes and expressed his appreciation for the people of this amazing profession.
A couple quotes that stood out to me were…
“My teacher thought I was smarter than I was… So I was.” - Six year old
&
“Teaching is the greatest act of optimism” - Colleen Wilcox (Probably maybe a distant cousin of Mr. Jon Wilcox)
These stood out to me because this is how I see our staff work daily. They come to work every day knowing that they can, and do, make a difference. They never seem to stop working or thinking of ways to reach and support students. It is clear that what we do here is try to make our kids’ lives better for their future! One of the most critical things that they do is inspire. They show students that they can be great and that they can do well in life. They lead by example each and every day. I am so proud to be a member of the Polecat Family!
Thank you teachers (including all staff as we are all teachers in my book) for all that you do! I believe that each and everyone of you, based on your hard work, would be a great and deserving award recipient!
THANK YOU TO OUR AMAZING PARENTS! This week, we were showered with so many thoughtful gifts from our families and hard working PTO members! We have it so good here and we truly are extremely appreciative of the kind gestures.
Breathe… We only have 4 weeks before the end of the school year and we have a lot going on! Continue to preach the importance of finishing strong and keeping the hard work going. Let’s continue to grow and have a great year! Remember that NWEA will be happening in the next few weeks. Thanks
