Note from the Principal (Mr. Semmler)
Dear DLJHCharger Families,
This week is Texas Public Schools Week. This is a chance to recognize the amazing work that is done by the teachers and staff at our public schools. Please send your teachers a kind note of thanks this week and enter the "Be The One" submission in our newsletter so we can do shout outs in our upcoming newsletters.
A little positive uplifting comment can go a long way in encouraging a teacher to stay in the profession and stay at Leaman next year.
Sincerely,
Michael Semmler

Student of the Week

Kennedy Dukes was nominated by Ms. Yousef
Kennedy is in my 8th period and everyday as she is coming in she has a BIG smile and says "Hey Ms. Yousef" with enthusiasm. She actively participates and tries her hardest each day in class and definitely impacts the culture of our classroom.
GS-OM
Rodina (Rose) Ismail was nominated by Ms. Ducote
I nominate Rose because she has been showing the Caring and Responsibility traits in my science class. She is always picking up after herself or putting things back where it goes. During the Pig lab she made sure everything was cleaned and were set up the right way for the next class. For the Caring trait, she has taking it on herself to help a EB student and making sure she knows what is going on and advocates for her if she doesn't alert me that she needs help or clarification.

Aydin Singh Nominated By Mrs. Gloria
Aydin is always very helpful and respectful. He is always ready to help in anyway he can. I appreciate the fact that when he does not understand a task, he will ask questions to ensure that what was asked of him is carried out in the correct way. His smile is contagious and his bright spirit always brightens my day! He is a wonderful office aide! Keep up the GREAT work Aydin!

PBIS Rewards and Donations
PBIS Expectations & Rewards - PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports. One large piece is explaining expectations upfront. Another piece is rewarding students when we see those focused on positive behaviors. 3 campus-wide expectations posters are placed throughout the campus and added below.
We are using LiveSchool this year and your student can log through Classlink on the LCISD webpage (at the top) to start to explore what this is all about. They do NOT need a phone to do this. It can be done on a laptop or computer.
Parents if you are interested in donating to the PBIS school store the following list is a great start. We accept all donations both monetary and items. Student will begin being able to purchase items during lunch with their LiveSchool points.
Click below to order donations:
You can drop them off in the front off or have them mailed to the school.
Birthday Shout Outs
Did you know you can give your student a Birthday Shout Out over the announcements? You can purchase a shout out for $5 through School Cash. All shout outs must be made at least 5 days in advance. Thank you and happy early birthday to all our students.
