News from Eli Terry
Week of September 8th, 2023
Thank you to all of you for helping to make our final "Thankful Thursday" an incredible gift for all 105 of our Eli Terry staff members. We received a total of 846 "gift of gratitude" submissions! Student Principal Leona Casionan helped hand deliver each one saying, "Thank you for being such an important part of our Eli Terry community!"
The feedback was overwhelming! Many staff members were moved to tears, staff shared that this will be something they will cherish forever, and others shared that this was the best gift they have ever been given!
This top secret project couldn't have been accomplished without all of you, and Mrs. Beaudreau who lovingly compiled and created each and every book!
A Note from Your Principals
Early Release Wednesdays
MARK YOUR CALENDARS FAMILIES!
Early release Wednesdays resume on Wednesday, March 13th and will continue through the end of the school year!
Dismissal on Wednesdays will begin at 12:45PM. If your child will have different dismissal plans on these days, that haven't already been communicated with the Main Office, please reach out to Audrey Nieves (anieves@swindsor.k12.ct.us).
And if you haven't signed up for a spring parent-teacher conference, please reach out to your child's teacher(s). Our first 4 early release Wednesdays are dedicated to these important collaborative conversations!
Morning Drop Off Reminder
Families...please remember that if you are dropping off after 8:45AM, you must sign your child in in the Main Office. If you do not sign your child in, they will be marked "unexcused tardy".

Grade 5 to Grade 6 Transition
Greetings 5th grade families!
The transition to middle school at Timothy Edwards is an exciting time. The school and staff will be working all spring and summer to welcome your child. One part of our planning is to recommend a math class for every student for 6th grade. During the spring conference with your child’s 5th grade teacher, math placement for 6th grade will be one of the things you discuss together.
To help provide information in advance of this meeting, we have gathered several resources about the placement process and the 6-12 math program. To access this information, please either follow the link to Math Placement Information or scan the QR code.
Best wishes for a smooth transition!

2024-25 Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten registration opened on Monday February 5th. If you have an incoming Kindergartner, or know someone who does, please share this information!
Below are the documents that are either posted on the website or given to Grade K parents electronically once they are fully registered.
We look forward to welcoming all our new Kindergarten Terriers!
Shout outs are a great way to express gratitude towards those who have made a positive impact in our lives. Whether it's a staff member, friend, student, or colleague, taking a moment to acknowledge and appreciate their contributions can strengthen relationships and bring our ET community closer together.
So, if you're feeling thankful for someone in your or your child's life, don't hesitate to give them a shout out! Go ahead, spread some love and appreciation to those who matter most to you.
