The Story of Hiroshima
Hiroshima was destroyed on Monday, August 6, 1945, 8:15 am by the nuclear bomb named little boy. It was dropped on hiroshima by an american B-29 Bomber named the Enola gay which was flown by Colonel Paul Tibbets. At the detonation of the bomb an estimated 80,000 people died instantly. At the end of the year the death toll doubled to 135,000 from injuries and radiation from the bomb. 70% of the buildings were destroyed with another 7% severely damaged. The bomb was dropped by the United States Army Air Forces at the end of world war 2.

You can see a person running through the streets surround by flames. The focal point if this painting would have to be the flames because they draw the attention away from everything else. It is unbelievable to see a person engulfed i flames. I believe the artist is trying to make you fell panicked because everything is lit up in flames. It show urgency in the person trying to get away from the burning flames. This painting is a success because the artist put meaning by drawing the person in the state that he did. The flames bring the paint to life while the person running makes you feel uneasy as if you could almost feel the fire trying to engulf you.
Downtown Ruins
The title of this painting is Downtown Ruins. The artist is Kojiri Tsutomu. It was created in 1973 through 1974. You can depict a city that has be obliterated and it looks desolate. The focal point of this painting is the burnt trees and the building in the background. It draws the attention to you of how everything was destroyed. I believe the artist was trying to depict the loneliness in the painting by showing the immense destruction that took place. I believe the artist got is getting his point across by showing the world the huge power of the bomb. The emptiness shown by the painting really draws your attention. I believe this painting is a success based on the artist skill in the aftermath of such an event.
City Burning, Black Cloud in the Background
The title of this painting is City Burning in the Background. The artist is Goro Kiyoyoshi. This was created in 1973. Thus painting shows an entire city lit up in flames creating a huge black cloud. The focal point of this painting is the flames. They look bright and colorful drawing the eye closer. The artist is trying to depict the moment a city erupted in flames destroying everything. I believe this artwork is a success because the artist clear depicts what he is trying to paint. The city on fire are radiant make the picture almost come alive,
