Week of 4/8-4/15
BIG WEEK AHEAD!!
1. Banquet RSVP due this Friday April 12th, The banquet committee needs to get a count of how many GUESTS are attending this year's band banquet. Please complete this form by Friday, April 12. If you need to purchase additional tickets, you may do so on the Toolkit.
2. Congratulations to all 3 bands on earning 1st divisions in Concert and Sightreading this past week. Our guard also finished out their NTCA season 7th place over all at Championships. They travel to Ohio this week for WGI National Championships!! Best of luck!
3. Percussion Concert is on Thursday this week @ 7:00pm. An exciting night with incredible performances!
4. Volunteers needs are below for our last few weeks. Please help out where you can so we can finish out the year strong. These are high priorities for us to finish out this year and we so appreciate your help!
5. Solo Contest Accompanist rehearsals begin THIS WEEK. Keep an eye out in the band hall, Mrs. Santamaria has posted that schedule. Please make sure that you have brought in your solo entry fee ($15) by now and that you are prepared to pay your accompanist fee directly to them.
6. SENIORS: It is that time! Fill out THIS FORM for recognition at Spring Concert/Band Banquet. DUE BEFORE FRIDAY MAY 3RD
7. Band audition listening for Fall of 2024 happen April 25th through May 3rd. AUDITION LETTER AND RESOURCES HERE
8. Let's get PHYSICAL! We have 3 MISD physical events coming up in April that are cheap ($20)and for your convenience. You are able to also make a personal appointment with your Primary physician (It just has to be dated after April 1st and before May 17th). All band students (returning and incoming) need to have a NEW 2024-2025 physical on file with us by May 17th. Read below and Google Calendar for MISD event times/placements.
8. Band Fee's: Not a subject we like, but is important for the continued success of our program. Final payments were due on February 15th but we understand that circumstances arise. Please be on the lookout (email/voicemail) as we continue to reach out to find solutions to complete this year's outstanding balances. Remember, Our annual budget includes the end of this year (2023-2024) and the start of the next one (2024-2025). Things like the band banquet and next year's marching design are our final projects before we close out the semester and finalized payments make a big difference. Communication is key, please reach out to boydbandtreasurer@gmail.com to communicate any need for a payment plan. We have to put all outstanding fee's on the school hold list by April 15th.
9. EUROPE TRIP SUMMER OF 2025!!!: Interested in a trip of a lifetime at a reasonable price? We have an amazing trip planned and will have an informative, no pressure no commitment meeting on May 15th @ 6:30PM! SAVE THE DATE. This trip is not just for band students (Current 7th-12th graders) but for any parent or family member (over 13 yrs old) who is interested in also attending (NO CHAPERONE DUTIES, just great sights, food and culture to enjoy). Interested? Please fill out this RSVP for the meeting so I can plan to set up enough chairs.
10. Google calendar is the ONLY place you need to find times/outlines/itineraries. It is almost constantly being updated. Always check the google calendar first!

Upcoming Volunteer Needs
1.There is a new opportunity for concessions on a Saturday Morning 4/20 for the Baseball Game. This can be students or adults and would allow you to get your $300 volunteer credit. You can sign up in the membership toolkit.
2. We are also in need of two to three more non-senior parents to coordinate the senior scholarship committee

Very Important Information
To sign up for volunteers, log into boydband.membershiptoolkit.com and click on volunteer. It will show you all of the possible opportunities you can sign up for.
Also in toolkit is where you can purchase your volunteer shirts! Just got to "My Account" And "My Account/Forms" Then scroll down to "Spirit Wear 23/24. You can scroll down from there to purchase either your Red "Official" volunteer shirt Remember these are the only shirts that are allowed. All of the older shirts should not be worn.
We are also still looking for the Band families to volunteer for our board next year. Please see the link for the volunteer interest form. There are only a few questions to answer and it doesn't take long to fill out.

Solo Contest info
Solo Contest Date: Saturday 4/20/24 @ Boyd
Accompanist Rehearsal Dates: April 9th-12th and April 16th-19th
SOLO ORIGINAL: Copyright laws require that an original be purchased for the Solo Contest. Students are responsible for purchasing, keeping, and giving the judge an original (confirm w/ a director if you have questions).
**PLEASE CONFIRM ON MEMBERSHIP TOOLKIT or with Molly Smith (boydbandregistrar@gmail.com) IF YOU PAID FOR THE SOLO CONTEST DURING REGISTRATION**
If you did not pay the fee during registration, the entry fee is $15 per time slot (10 minutes)
- cash (in a labeled envelope) or check to "MBHS Band Boosters" due by APRIL 1st- Turn in payments to ANY band director
Class of 2024 Seniors
1. Fill out this form before Friday May 3rd to be recognized at Spring Concert and Band banquet!
2. Send (or have your parents do it) your graduation and baby photos to the senior liaisons (boydbandseniorliaison@gmail.com). Same deadline as the form above.
PHYSICAL Events
You can always schedule your own physical appointment with your PCP (Just make sure it is dated after April 1st 2024 and before May 17th 2024).

- Wednesday 4/10 @ McKinney North HS 3:00-6:00pm
- Wednesday 4/17 @ McKinney High 3:00-6:00pm
- Saturday 4/20 @ McKinney Boyd 7:00-11:00am (Show up 1st thing 7:00am if you plan to do this one and are also scheduled for a solo)
