The Principal's ROAR
This week we celebrated Staff Appreciation week each day. It has often been said that teachers have thankless jobs. The harsh reality is that, in fact, sometimes teachers do not get to see the fruits of their labor for years after they work with students. The delayed gratification that comes with being a teacher is something veteran teachers look forward to each year when an old student will stop by to say hello or to express gratitude for the positive impact they had on them. So ultimately, it is not a thankless job. It is simply one that comes with thankfulness down the road. Because we understand this truth, we made a point to make sure our staff felt how much they are appreciated in real time this week. The external appreciation was well received and our teachers deserve it all. However, I know that many of us who do this work look for internal satisfaction even more. Things like seeing a student improve on a test or their own understanding of a concept. Seeing the "light bulb" turn on for a student is something that we strive for everyday. Thank you to the amazing educators who work at LMS!
Along those lines, I want to give a huge shout out to the Moms in our community. Without you we would not have students to serve. It is with absolute honor that I say to you, "Happy Mothers Day"
Mr. Saks
Kai's Korner
This is a reminder that next week, we will begin our Smarter Balanced Assessment. Students will be testing on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Please make sure your student comes to school with a charged Chromebook Monday morning, and wired headphones. Students may NOT have bluetooth headphones, cell phones, or other unapproved electronic devices during testing.
Thank you
Ms. Kai
Berry's Blast
With the weather warming up it is important to keep in mind that our clothing choices need to still be school appropriate.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the sun!
Ms. Berry
