Schools of Choice Window for WLCSD
Walled Lake Schools is opening a “limited” window of Schools of Choice – May 20 – June 7. Keith does have limited space available at this time.

KEITH FIELD DAY 2019! JUNE 6, 2019
It is time again for the Keith Elementary Annual Field Day!
Please join us in making this a wonderful day for our students! Field Day gives students a chance to play a variety of individual and group games with their classmates.
Many volunteers are needed to make this event a success. Your reward is the big smiles you will see as the students enjoy this incredibly fun day.
Please sign up if you can help at a field day station in the morning, afternoon or both sessions.

Math Club Announcement!
Congratulations to Piper Tomasik and Piper Johnson who represented Keith Elementary at the Division III Math Pentathlon on Saturday, May 11th. They competed with hundreds of other students from across Michigan and Ohio. They both earned the Math Pentathlete award. Great job team!!
Math Club - Parent Volunteer Needed!
Master Gamer wanted!! Are you a parent who likes playing strategy games? Would you like to inspire a new generation of strategic thinkers? Well then, we have the job for you! We are looking for a parent volunteer who could coordinate the Math Club program next year. The Math Club program utilizes games to develop kids critical and strategic thinking, as they try to outsmart their opponent.

We are so proud of the girls for spending 12 weeks learning how to unleash their confidence and build a lifelong appreciation for health and fitness. This weekend, as a team, we ran a celebratory 5k at Lake St. Clair Metro Park! A big thank you to Coach Snavely, Coach Kneal, Coach Regester and Coach Melissa! Way to Go Dragons!! Girls on the Run is so much fun!

Western Oakland County Parenting Education Fair - SAVE THE DATE!
The Western Oakland County Parenting Education Fair is back! This excellent parenting opportunity will be taking place on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Walled Lake Northern High School. Registration links will be coming soon!
Walled Lake Schools values our partnership with our families and believes a home-school connection is key to a child’s success. We are continuing our partnership with our neighboring parent/teacher groups and staff from Farmington Public Schools, Novi Community Schools, Oakland Schools, Oakland County Youth Assistance, and West Bloomfield Schools. Together we are hosting the Western Oakland County Parenting Education Fair on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Walled Lake Northern High School. We are very excited to have Brooks Gibbs joining us this year as our keynote speaker! Learn more about Brooks Gibbs by watching: The Resilent Parenting Style
The Parenting Fair’s purpose is to educate, inform, and provide resources for parents and caregivers. Topics include managing social media with your child, reducing stress and anxiety, strategies to help you with a child with ADHD, nutrition, character building, planning for college, and more. Child care is available for a reasonable cost ($3 for one child, $5 per family) and includes entertainment and lunch. Lunch for conference participants will be available for purchase from local food trucks during the event.

Friday’s are Spirit Day here at Keith.
Your child is encouraged to wear a Keith shirt or the color red each and every Friday. The upper elementary and lower elementary classroom with the highest number of participants will win a visit from “Sparky” our Keith Dragon for the week.

Second Step Announcement!
Parents, your children will continue to focus on the second step lessons learned this year and teachers will continue to review key concepts with our students. I appreciate that you talk with your children about how they took time to show positive behavior at school this past week.

Bagel Sale
The final Bagel Sale of the year will be held on June 4th. The bagels are allergy-friendly from New York Bagel on Orchard Lake Home. Fliers will be going home May 28th, when we return from Memorial Day break. Orders and money are due May 31st. If you are a 5th grade parent and would like to help, please sign up.
Bottle Return Fundraiser
Attention all 5th Graders! We are having another Bottle Return Fundraiser to help pay for the 5th grade party. Please collect bottles and cans from friends and family over the Memorial Day break and return them to Kroger. Bring in the return slips. The class with the most amount in returns will earn a PIZZA PARTY! Bottle returns are due May 31st.

If you would like to help at the 5th grade party, the signup is now available. Please note that this is an official Keith Field Trip, so all volunteers MUST have a background check on file with the school. If spouses, grandparents, friends would like to help, please make sure that they complete the background check form and turn it in to the front office at Keith by Wednesday, June 5th.
