Inti Raymi in translation from Quechua is "sun festival" and it's to celebrate the sun for all the things that a sun does. Being a source of light, warmth, and LIFE. Honoring it with parades and folk music like one big party, because Inti Raymi is one of the most celebrated holidays in South America
Celebrated Every Winter Solstice
Though it would be our summer, it's their winter times. The festivity starts June 24, and even thought a celebration for the sun on their shortest day of the year, the celebration is bring it back for them and being hopeful for a good upcoming planting season
