LID Day
6th Grade Cross Country Intramural
WHO: All interested 6th graders
WHAT: XC practice 2x a week (will run with 7th and 8th-grade team) and a final Active 4 Youth ALL-LEAGUE Meet.
DEADLINE: Registration closes Thursday, October 7th.
WHEN: Tuesdays and Thursdays 2:50-5:00 beginning October 12th-28th. Final All-league meet Monday, November 1st @ 4:30 pm
WHERE: Practice at Horizon; All-League meet at Ridgeline High School
WHAT: Each participant will need to purchase their ASB card($20 and good for all year) AND All-league meet participation fee of $20 (covers race bib w/chip timer and a t-shirt).
HOW: Must register through FamilyID. Online paperwork and fees can be accessed here:

- PCR test at school or with a provider
- Provider can diagnose another issue other than COVID for return to school when symptoms have improved
- Student can quarantine away from school for 14 days
No student can return until they have been symptom free for 24 hours.

We want to share with you both school supports and community resources that you can access if your family and/or child is in need. We also want you to know that, new this year, we have included on the back of your child’s student ID badge contact information for crisis and emergencies, such as the 24/7 Regional Crisis Line 1-877-266-1818.
School Hours and Late Start Thursday Information
Arrival -
Students will not be allowed in the school building until 7:45 (8:45 on Thursdays) due to supervision limitations and COVID restrictions. Class begins at 8:10 (9:10 on Thursdays).Dismissal -
Students are to leave school grounds upon dismissal at 2:40 unless they are involved in school sports or other school related after hours activities. If you are picking your child up, we ask that you arrive between 2:40 and 3:00 to lessen the congestion on surrounding streets and in the parking lot.

ACADEMICS
Horizon Middle School Soaring Hawks
Students who earn a minimum of 3.5 GPA for each of the first three quarters of the academic year are eligible to join the Horizon Middle School Soaring Hawks National Junior Honor Society. After each quarter, names of eligible students will be posted and published at school. Students whose names are posted each of the first three quarters are eligible to join Honor Society at an end of the year ceremony. During the ceremony, students receive certificates and medals in recognition of their achievements.
