Please remember to send in medication in original packaging to the clinic with completed paperwork for our new school year. Epi-Pens, Auvi-q, Daily medications, and Inhalers must have a doctor’s signature. Forms can be found on the Fulton County Schools website.
The clinic is also in need of girl’s pants (shorts/leggings) and boys t-shirts.
Please contact the clinic for any questions.
CHANGING YOUR STUDENT’S TRANSPORTATION
Students are assigned a bus based on the primary address in Infinite Campus. To ride any bus other than the assigned bus, you need approval from FCS transportation. Please contact Suzanne Schwitters at north transportation for consideration. schwitterssc@fultonschools.org.
STUDENT CHECK OUT 101
IT’S EASY Most dismissals that occur during the school day are pre-planned and can be a smooth process following these easy steps.
CHECK OUT
1. Write a note outlining the following –who (full name please) you are checking out, why you are checking out, date and time you are checking out, then sign and give a contact number. Also, please note that the latest a student should check out is 3:45 pm. This avoids conflict with buses and carpool drivers arriving for dismissal.
2. Please send the note with your student on the day of the pre-planned early dismissal and have them report to the office upon. The note will be approved and will then serve as a pass out of class at the noted time. Your student is then instructed to report to the front office at your stated time so be sure this accurately represents when you want them to be at the front office.
3. Check out now requires that you scan the QR code on the YELLOW flyer at the front doors with your smartphone camera and complete the ENTIRE questionnaire including, the taking a picture of your ID, then hit SUBMIT. Once approved, ring the bell. 4. If your checking a student out for the remainder of the day for Dr appt please scan and email that Dr. note to CMSfrontoffice@fultonschools.org
CHECK IN
1.Please scan the QR code on the window at the front doors. If you are checking in WITH a Dr note, please see at the bottom of the Check in/out form where you can take a picture of the note to attach to the Check In submission.
2. Once submitted and approved, please ring the bell to show the Approval from the app and direct your student to the office for a pass to class.
ATTENDANCE: PARENTS, SCHOOL, AND AUTOMATION
An ‘automatic phone parent notification’ is generated when any absence is entered by a teacher during the class day. Please submit a virtual note (to cmsfrontoffice@fultonschools.org). You may attach a scan or picture of a Doctor’s excuse to the email for additional documentation. Examples of excusable absences are illness, funeral attendance, and religious observance. The average time from the absence to the correction for an excusable absence is 1-2 days. When you receive this call and if you have already communicated an explanation of the absence, no further action is needed.
Should you wish to confirm that your student’s attendance is accurately logged, you may check Home Access Center a few days after an absence. Simply run your mouse over the day to see more detail. Remember that the beginning of the day starts promptly at 8:55. CMS appreciates your participation in this process to assure maximum instructional time.
CMS Extramural tennis tryouts
Tennis is beginning for interested 7th and 8th graders (girls & boys). FCS extramurals are not open to 6th grade students. This is a FCS rule not a CMS rule. Tennis tryouts will be held on September 13 and 14 immediately after school.
All forms must be on file in order to participate in tryouts. The physical must be completed by a health care provider. Visit FCS website > Departments > Athletics > Forms for the 10 forms that must be completed.

PBIS Reward Store - HELP NEEDED!
Crabapple Middle is launching their first ever PBIS store! The PTA is supporting their launch by collecting donations for store items that students can purchase with their PBIS points. They plan to open the store the week of September 25th-29th. While they will collect items all year long to keep supplies up, they are hoping to collect enough items in the first 3 weeks of September to get the store up and running. Please use the Amazon Wish List to donate items.
Mrs. Pritchard, PBIS Administrator, and Ms. King, PBIS coach, are looking for a PTA chairperson to help support PBIS initiatives. This person would help support end of semester PBIS celebrations, help organize store donations, schedule any parent volunteers who would like to help run the store once it is open, and anything else PBIS related. If interested, please let us know so we can get you in contact.
(PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support. It is a reward system for students.)
Did you know that CMS has a garden?
Crabapple has a long tradition of a Learn and Serve Garden where students grow food and share it with others in the school community. The garden is getting established again after moving to our new building two years ago. Through a partnership between PTA, AVID, and Huskies Helping Huskies, vegetables are grown and shared.
We need your help! Please come admire the garden but please don’t help yourself to the vegetables and please don’t let your dog use the garden as a restroom. Help us keep the garden clean! Thank you!

Husky Helping Huskies News
Support the Huskies Helping Huskies "Game Day" Food Drive
Throughout the school year, Huskies Helping Huskies organizes six food distributions for our families, which typically include a grocery gift card, snacks, and fresh vegetables and herbs from the CMS Learn and Serve Garden. We try to offer something fun for the students as well, and the theme for the October 6th distribution is "Game Day."
Can you help by purchasing a game, snacks, or gift card from the Walmart gift registry? You can also make a donation of any amount to HHH through either Venmo or PayPal.
Interested in learning more about how HHH supports our community? Join us at Gate City on Oct 5th at 7 pm for our HHH Annual Fund Kickoff and Informational Meeting. Gate City has generously donated its back room for the occasion, and the HHH board will be there to answer questions about our program and share how you can help as a donor and/or volunteer.
Visit our website to learn more and follow us on Facebook or Instagram. Thank you for supporting CMS students in need!
