Message from Superintendent Mike Johnson
- Please keep your student home and notify the school if a child is experiencing symptoms of illness or has been exposed to a positive case of COVID-19. This is a critical step in preventing the spread of the virus and keeping our schools open.
- Get vaccinated if you are eligible.
- Wear face coverings.
- Wash your hands often and follow cough etiquette.
When educators and parents work together, we improve the educational experience. Thank you for partnering with us in service to our students -- we are stronger together!
CSD 25+ Heroes
Our first featured 25+ Hero is Mary Lou Neill, who has served CSD for 31 years. Mary Lou is a 3rd grade teacher at Creslane Elementary and says she has enjoyed the camaraderie and friendships made at Creswell School District. In addition to teaching, Mary Lou is also an artist. She is currently working on some original paintings and a children's book.
Mary Lou, you are an important part of CSD. We appreciate you!
What is i-Ready?
The i-Ready Diagnostic is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit a student's needs. Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions.
Following assessments, i-Ready personalized instruction provides students with lessons based on their individual skill level and needs, so they can learn at a pace that is just right for them. During our upcoming in-service day on October 8th, CSD staff will be reviewing initial i-Ready diagnostic data to see how best to support students with opportunities to accelerate learning or review specific skills. Diagnostic assessments will be administered three times during the year and will be used to inform instructional decisions in the classroom.
Nutrition Services Update
We know this impacts your decisions to pack meals and we appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we continue to feed CSD students.
