Create an informational public service announcement
What is Cyberbullying?
The willful and repeated harm inflicted through the use of computers, cell phones, and other electronic devices.
Choose a topic from the list - only two people per topic (on sign up sheet)
- Cyberbullying and bystanders
- Cyberbullying and mental health issues (suicide, etc...)
- Cyberbullying and parental involvement
- Cyberbullying and the differences between boys and girls
- Cyberbullying and the law
- Cyberbullying and prevention/solutions
- Cyberbullying and peer pressure
- Cyberbullying and the schools (What can they do? What does our student handbook say?)
Include the following in your presentation:
- 10 statistics (try to find some that are specific to your cyberbully topic).
- Three things someone can do to protect themselves from becoming the target of a cyberbully.
- Three safe ways someone can respond to cyberbullying if it has already started.
- Three helpful websites/resources for learning more about cyberbullying.
- Describe how to report a cyberbully on social networking sites.
Be specific: how do you report someone on sites such as Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook, Tumblr - Consequences of cyberbullying (legally and at school)
~What laws are there to help those that are being bullied? Look into states other than Ohio.
