It all began
The riots in Chicago and other cities in the summer of 1919 marked the beginning of a growing willingness among African Americans to fight for their rights in the face of oppression and injustice.

The Incident
A group of African-Americans skipped school to go to the beach and while at the beach they were segregated from the whites and so the got on the raft and was playing and they accidentally drifted to the whites side of the beach and they didn’t realize it until the men started throwing rocks and they thought it was a game so they started throwing rocks back. One of the teens got hit in the head and they started screaming and crying then both races just started going at it and the cops didn’t take him in custody.
Ku Klux Klan
White people made a group of nothing but people of their race who are racist.They went around threatening, killing, and lynching blacks in the South.
