**REMINDERS FROM THE MAIN OFFICE**
School starts at 7:50AM for the regular school day.
Absence Reporting: Please call 217-5306 prior to the start of the school day if your child will be absent from school, or will be late.
When to Send a Note:
Early Dismissal: It is very important to send in a note to the teacher with your child if your child needs to be dismissed early. Please include in the note their full name, time of pickup, and reason for pickup.
Bus Passes: Send in a note to the teacher if your child requires a bus pass to a different location. Please include your child’s full name, bus number, street address, and name of where they are going.
Parent Pick-ups at End of Day: When you pick up your child, please bring a photo I.D. and be in the entryway. Always send in a note to the teacher if you are picking your child up at dismissal time. If you will be picking your child up on a regular basis, please send in a note stating the consistent days of pick up.
After School Activity: If your child has an after school activity and for any reason cannot attend please send the teacher a note. This is important at dismissal time so that we know your child is not staying after school, and that someone will be home for the bus drop-off.
If an emergency occurs please contact the office (BEFORE 1:30PM) Please always send in a note with your child for early pickups, pick up at dismissal, or bus passes. If something changes during the day and you need to make new arrangements for your child, call the main office by 1:30 p.m. Thank you for your help!
Contact Information Updates: It is extremely important that we are able to contact you during the day, so please notify the office anytime there is a change to your phone, email or mailing address.

54th Annual 4th Grade Fun Run!
Dear Parents,
On Friday, September 27th our fourth grade students will participate in the 52nd Annual Cross Country Fun Run at North Ponds Park. This is a district wide event run by the elementary physical education department. The rain date is Friday, October 4th.
The students will leave State Road at 9:15am arriving at the park at 9:25. At approximately 10:00am the first group will begin. There will be five groups total. Students will return to State Road by 11:15am. They will eat lunch back at school as normal.
What to Bring:
State Road Care T-shirts
Water bottle with child’s name
Warm clothes (if needed)
If you plan on attending the event, please consider carpooling as there is limited parking at the park.
Parent Volunteers Needed!
We will need some parent volunteers to help with supervision around the park to keep the kids safe! You will still be able to see your child run from your supervision spot.
If interested in volunteering, sign up by going to http://tiny.cc/funrun1818 by Wednesday September 18. Thank you in advance!!!! This event cannot happen without you :)
We will contact you with more information as the date nears.
Your P.E. Team,
Mrs. Carlsen & Mr. Graf
First graders are taking a trip to Schutt's apple farm to learn about the life cycle of an apple and how cider is made.
5th Grade Families
Fifth grade is an exciting year for students at State Road! There are special field trips, theme days, the carnival, Seabreeze, memory books and Moving-up day!
All of these awesome memories are made possible by parents. Below is list of Event Chair positions. Some have been filled and there are some that remain vacant going into the school year. We are in need of 5th grade parents to volunteer for the vacant positions. At the 5th grade parent meeting in October, there will be more specific information about planning the carnival and sub-committee volunteer needs for that event (meeting details will come home with your student later this month).
However, it is really important to get these Chair positions filled ASAP. We promise to support you and recruit volunteers to assist you in these positions as well as to connect you with last year’s chairs.
5th grade events are NOT run by PTSA, they are run by 5th grade parents, we NEED parents to volunteer in order for these events to take place.
Please take a look at the Chair positions below and consider volunteering. If you feel like you need more information on a position before committing, send an email to, stateptsa@websterptsa.org and I will give you an honest summary of what’s involved.
Thank you so much for your time and interest.
Regards,
Kim Proeto and Kara Quigley
