Google Classroom Info
This was sent out on Friday last week - please take a moment to read the information.
There seems to be some confusion with our students about the difference between “turning in” an assignment in Google Classroom and actually doing the work attached to the assignment.
I want to clarify to everyone that on each assignment we post in Google Classroom, there is an option to “turn in” the assignment in the top right corner. We have MANY students who are “turning in” assignments, but they haven’t done the actual work. Most of the assignments have a form to fill out, a quiz to take, or a playing assignment to be done either in SmartMusic or as a recording they must upload to the assignment.
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND ACTUALLY COMPLETE THE ASSIGNMENT BEFORE YOU CLICK THE “TURN IN” BUTTON. We have spent tons of time making tutorial videos showing exactly how to complete the assignments and are very careful with our wording to make the instructions as clear as possible. Please read all instructions and use the tools/videos/tutorials we have provided before assuming you don’t know how to do something.
We know it can be overwhelming to some and are HAPPY to help in any way we can, but there are currently far too many students commenting that they can’t do an assignment when it is clear that they have not read the instructions or used any of the provided tutorial videos.
We are thinking of all of you and miss being with you every day! We are so proud of how well you are tackling this online learning and we also want to ensure that everyone feels comfortable with this style of education moving forward, in the event that we are working this way longer than we would like or expect. Please continue to ask for help when you need it, but also please try to problem solve before immediately assuming you are not capable of doing the work. You are capable of so much! We believe in you and know we will get through this!

HMS Band Auditions
Audition music and information for the 2020-2021 Hudson Band program has been released in Google Classroom. Students will submit video auditions to determine their placement in band for next school year. Videos will be submitted anytime prior to May 1 as an upload to the HMS Audition assignment in Google Classroom.
