- How can you use empathy when you are better at something than others?
Something Good (VIDEO)

- Why are the other students worried, confused, sad and angry?
- How do the adults try to help the students heal from this incident?

One (VIDEO)
- Who would you rather have for a friend: Red or One? Why?

Important Dates & Cafeteria Info...
As you know, from previous district and school communications, federal waivers for free meals expired in June 2022. All districts have been required to return to pre-pandemic operations for the 2022-23 school year. Meals free of charge will be available only to those students who qualify through Direct Certification, Categorical Eligibility, or the 2022-2023 Application for Free and Reduced Price School Meals. Please contact the main office if you need assistance with completing an application: 732.505.5830.
We encourage you to review the weekly menu with your child to determine what days (if any) they will purchase lunch. Our district is committed to ensuring the health of our students and we will never deny a student lunch if they report that they are hungry or have not brought a lunch from home. A Peek Into Last Week!
Cedar Grove Hosts Special Guest
In honor of World Down Syndrome Day, Mr. Chris Filiciello visited Cedar Grove Elementary to talk to grade five students about Down Syndrome. Students were so excited to welcome his special guest!
World Down Syndrome Day is observed globally each year on March 21. The date (3/21) is significant since it represents the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome.

Arrival & Dismissal Procedures
Please Support School Safety
As of Friday, we will have additional security on school property to support a safe dismissal. Please be sure to follow our arrival and dismissal procedures located HERE and in our parent handbook. Lastly, please be aware that we will use our new camera system in the Brookside Lot to provide video to the Toms River Police Department to ticket unsafe drivers, if necessary.
We kindly ask on behalf of our neighbors on Brookside Drive, Jacqueline Court, Hearthstone Road and West Briar Ave that cars refrain from making unsafe u-turns which put the safety of our families at risk. Traffic issues related to surrounding areas off school property, may be directed to the Toms River Police Department.
Together, with patience and respect we will ensure a safe and calm arrival and dismissal for our students.
