As Valentine's Day approaches, Greg Tang has released another math challenge for students. It is done at home and is a great way to encourage math practice at each grade level. The link is below if you are interested.
The focus on small group instruction and student conversations using "accountable talk" continues. Encouraging students to voice their learning and listen and respond to others' ideas promotes a collaborative environment and long term learning. Though the examples below are from mathematics classrooms, the use of collaborative conversations has been long-standing in the ELA classroom.
