He was a member of the Sons of Liberty, Arnold became the general in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. He became a spy for the British. He died in London on June 14, 1801.
What
Arnold was providing the British with where the troops were and where they kept all the supples. August of 1780. He began weakening the fort by refusing to order necessary repairs and draining its supplies. He also was a great solider and would have been as acclaimed as George Washington if he did not turn into a traider. He also was one of the biggest parts in taking down the British.
Where
In 1785, Arnold and his son Richard moved to New Brunswick, Canada, where they made a West Indies trade. Following a lot of business dealings that resulted in a crowd burning Arnold and the family returned to London. Arnold continued to trade with the West Indies during the French Revolution, and was taken in by French police for suspicion of spying.

By 1779 Benedict Arnold had become a trader.
Why?
Benedict Arnold became a trader because he got shot twice when he was fighting with the colonies and he got nothing except the fact that he had to keep fighting. He got payed nothing and he did not like that. The British payed him when they gave him information. Benedict Arnold has a court marshal because he was accused of using his army for his own use. He was selling the secrets of America.
