State Testing - Week of April 4, 2022
Dear Stoller Students & Families,
This is just a reminder that we will begin State Testing next week. Students will be testing in their English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and Science 8 (8th grade only) classes. We will be running an alternate schedule that will allow longer periods of time for testing.
Next week’s schedule is as follows:
Monday - Periods 1-4
Tuesday - Periods 5-8
Wednesday - Periods 1-4
Thursday - Periods 5-8
Friday - Regular Schedule - No Advisory
Here are some important reminders:
Make sure to bring your Chromebook fully charged and a pair of headphones.
*Note, some Bluetooth headphones do not work for testing. Please test Bluetooth headphone pairing at home prior to Monday or bring wire headset. In order to login, you will be using your Legal Name and your State Testing ID Number (which will be provided at the beginning of the test). Note, this is a different ID number than your Beaverton School District ID.
Cell phones and other electronic devices (e.g. smart watches) are not allowed to be used during testing. They need to be turned off and put away.
Familiarize yourself with the testing system and the types of questions that will be on the tests.
To help relieve the stress that some students may have over State Testing, we encourage all students to get a good night’s rest, eat a healthy breakfast and, most importantly, relax. As a reminder breakfast is served at Stoller from 8:45-9:10.
Locker Assignments
Students participated in a lesson on lockers in Advisory classes yesterday. If your student is interested in receiving a locker for the remainder of the school year, please review and sign this locker agreement with them by Tuesday, April 5th.
Students who submit an agreement by the deadline will receive a locker assignment in Advisory on Friday, April 8th. We're asking students to practice their combinations next Friday and wait until the following week to begin using them.
Students are not required to have a locker and they may continue using backacks. If your student does not want a locker for the remaining 10 weeks of school, they do not have to submit the agreement.

8th Grade Celebration News
Hi 8th Grade Families!
Well it’s another year full of challenges. Someday our Class of 2026 kiddos will have a “normal” year, right?
Your 8th grade committee has been working hard on year-end activities. Typically this includes a send-off and a celebration as well as a class t-shirt. We aim to make this full of special memories for the kids as they leave middle school and get ready for high school.
Our tentative plan for our year-end celebration is a closed party at Kingpin’s during the last week of school. A closed party means the outside public is not allowed in during the party. We find this works best for both safety and health reasons. The party includes full food and games and school-sponsored transportation to and from the event.
We will also be doing a send-off where your kiddo will receive their t-shirt with their high school on it or just a generic class of 2026 if they prefer. Details for this are TBD.
We realize things are in flux and we are prepared to pivot at any time but as of now we are looking to collect funds of $45 from each family to fund these activities. If we need to scale back on our celebration we will offer full or partial refunds at that time, depending on the circumstances. We want to be clear that if you are not able to pay this amount, you will definitely still be included in the celebration. There are also options to donate more than the requested amount to support our Stoller families where contributing would be an unnecessary burden. We are very hopeful that things will be in a much different place come June!
We are requesting that you make your $45 payment using the link below by February 15th. Please also fill out your information using the other link in this email. This is not to track who pays or who doesn’t but ensures that your $45 goes to the 8th grade fund since the PTO has multiple sources of income. This also helps us track how close we are to our goal of fully funding these activities.
Last but not least, if you would like to help out with any of the aforementioned activities in a volunteer capacity, please make sure to mark your interests on your MyImpact volunteer profile and volunteer form link.
Any questions? Contact our 8th grade committee at Stoller8grade@gmail.com
We look forward to celebrating our 8th graders in the best way possible!
Thanks for your support,
Paul Baker, Amy Charon & Bradi Gates
