Course Information
Creative Writing introduces students to the literary elements of poetry and short narratives and provides opportunities to express themselves in those genres and achieve greater understanding of the human experience through creative discourse with other writers. Prerequisite: ENGL-121.
This is an entirely online course, and we will be using this Canvas site for all of our classes, work, and communication.
Professor Information
Professor Sylvia Lee is currently co-Chair and Associate Professor of English at Howard Community College where she teaches College Composition, Creative Writing, and Literature courses. She was previously an Assistant Professor at Montgomery College and has had teaching posts in New York and South Korea. She has been published in places such as The Korea Herald, Poets and Writers Magazine, and Lostwriters, among others. She has served on the editorial boards for several literary magazines, including HCC’s community publication The Muse, which is currently accepting submissions. She received her M.F.A. in Writing with an emphasis in poetry at Sarah Lawrence College and a B.A. in English from the University of Maryland at College Park.
