Michigan Retailers Association Scholarship Competition
The Michigan Retailers Foundation provides college scholarships annually to benefit retailers and their employees and families. MRA’s college scholarship competition begins in January each year. Awards are $1,000 for public or private college students and $500 for community college students. Financial need is not a consideration.
To be eligible, the student applicant or a parent or guardian must work at a business that is a member of MRA. High school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores and juniors may apply. American Polish Engineering Association Scholarship

Four Seasons Local Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is to be awarded to a graduating Senior that:
- Has a minimum GPA of 2.5
- Will be pursuing an education that demonstrates a commitment to enhancing the quality of life through business leadership and concern for the environment.
- Has demonstrated community involvement, and leadership skills. A review of participation in community organizations and employment history will be considered to attempt to measure the extent to which the
- student is committed and interested in these pursuits and to provide insight into the student’s character.
- Has submitted a Letter of Interest that includes:
- Letters of Recommendation, sealed in an envelope with the author’s signature over the seal.
The student’s Personal Statement that answers: Who or what series of events influenced your decision to pursue an education related to environmental concerns?
The scholarship is need based and can be used at the institution of choice, whether the student is enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year program, and will be available to the student before classes begin in the fall to assist with enrollment expenses.
Please turn in your Letter of Interest which includes your Personal Statement that answers the question above and one, two or more Letters of Recommendation to Mrs. Kondrat in the Principal’s Office by Monday, April 13th.
Nadia Atisha Educational Achievement Needs Based Scholarship
Eligibility Requirements: - The applicant must be of Chaldean Ancestry - The applicant must be a resident of Michigan - The applicant must be a graduating high school Senior, or must be enrolled full time at a 2- year or a 4-year college institution, in their Freshman or Sophomore year. - Previous winners of a Nadia Atisha Scholarship are ineligible to apply. - The applicant’s minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) must be of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. - The applicant must complete the application in its entirety and submit a 1500 word, double spaced, Essay. - The applicant must submit verification of financial need based on information requested in the application. - The applicant if awarded the scholarship must attend the awards ceremony held on May 20, 2015.

Oakland County Credit Union Scholarship Contest
Students have two options to enter:
1. Students may write a 500 word essay based on the following question: “What are the most important things to teach today’s youth so they may become better prepared financially when they are on their own?” Addressing the credit union difference and the industry’s philosophy of “People helping people” is encouraged.
2. Students may create at 2 to 4 minute video based on the same question above. Video entries should be submitted on a disk or jump drive.

SPARC College Scholarship Program
All students who are seniors in a SPARC member district (BHS) and enrolling in a college or university program are eligible to compete for one of the following six $1000.00 scholarships:
- Three $1,000.00 scholarships for students enrolled in a Food Related Program
(Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Registered Dietician, Chef Training, etc.)
The students receiving the highest scores will receive either the Katie Petersen Scholarship or one of the two John K. Milnes Memorial Scholarships
- Three $1,000.00 scholarships for students enrolled in other college or university program
Applicants must write an essay on one of the topics listed and submit it along with the completed application form to:

Student Insights, Student-View Scholarship Program
Student-View Scholarship Program is offering $10,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community college, or trade school. This scholarship has NO minimum SAT/ACT score or GPA, NO essay, NO application forms or fees.
Simply log on to http://www.student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in your area. The scholarship will be awarded via random drawing of all completed applications. The winner will be announced in May, 2015.
Student Insights is a market research firm helping colleges and universities communicate more effectively with high school seniors. Deadline to apply for this scholarship is April 22nd, 2015.
Birmingham Area Panhellenic Scholarship
10th, 11th, and 12th grade girls are invited to apply for this $500 award to be used for personal enrichment opportunities related to art, athletics, dance, drama, foreign language, journalism, music, or science. The recipient may use the award to defray program costs, such as enrollment fees, room and board, or travel.
The award may not be used for college tuition or expenses related to membership costs in a team, club, or organization. For application or more information see Mrs. Belsky in the counseling office. All application materials must be received by April 25th, 2015.
AFSCME Local 574 Scholarship
*Must be a graduating senior in 2015
*Scholarship is available to the general public
*Scholarship award is for $500.00. Recipient will be selected based on the best
combination of academic achievement and economic need.

Michigan Schools & Government Credit Union Educational Solutions Scholarship
The Educational Solutions Scholarship Program will provide 18 high school seniors with $2,500 to help offset the cost of their college education. Eligible students must attend a public school in one of our 33 partner school districts or technical campuses.
Students will be selected based on a number of criteria, including community involvement, contributions to society or family, a letter of recommendation and an essay. Detroit Economic Club Scholarship
The purpose of the Detroit Economic Club Scholarship Program is to assist students from Detroit and Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties in pursuing a program of undergraduate education. Up to two renewable scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded to students entering college as a freshman in the fall. Selection criteria includes:
· Strong scholastic performance equivalent to a 3.2 GPA overall or in the last two years of high school
· Exemplary leadership and character as demonstrated by extra-curricular activities, service in the
school and the community, volunteer involvement and/or paid work experience.
· Academic honors received; class rank and standardized test scores.
· A written personal statement
· Special consideration is given to students who have overcome specific hardships to achieve
their personal and educational goals. Applicants should describe the hardship(s) faced and
overcome in the Personal Statement on the online application.
· Applicants must demonstrate financial need by the completion of the FAFSA
· Application or acceptance as a full-time, first year student at an accredited post-secondary
educational certificate/degree program.
· All awards will be made without regard to race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sexual
orientation or sexual identification.

Eastern Michigan University Alumni Legacy Scholarship
Students must be admitted to EMU to qualify for this scholarship. All materials must be received by May 1, 2015.
AAA Michigan's School Safety Patrol Scholarship Program
Students must show documented proof of AAA Michigan School Safety Patrol participation in elementary or middle school, good academic standing, and a strong record of involvement in the community and/or extra-curricular activities. A personal letter of introduction must be included describing the community and extra-curricular activities and what being a Safety Partoller meant to them.

Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC) Scholarship program
1) Must be of Arab/Chaldean descent
2) Must be a Michigan resident
3) Must be a graduating high school senior
4) Must have 3.0 GPA or higher
5) Must provide copy of academic transcript
6) Must provide proof of acceptance into university or college
7) Must submit two letters of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or other school professional

Credit Union ONE William G. Coyne Memorial Scholarship Program
This scholarship is open to students whose family has been a member in good standing of Credit Union One for at least 6 months.
Applicants should also meet the following criteria:
* Complete 30 or more hours of documented community service by May 1st, 2015.
* Be a 2015 graduating senior
* Have at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA
* Plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited college, university, vocational or trade school in the fall of 2015

Jeptha Wade Schureman Scholarship
This scholarship will award up to ten $7,500 scholarships to students who meet the following criteria:
* Fatherless individuals due to death or termination of parental rights before age 18
* Residents of Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Lenawee, Monroe, Livingston, Washtenaw or St. Clair counties at the time of high school graduation
* Will pursue a major and career in nursing, law, dentistry or medicine
* Demonstrate financial need
* Must attend one of the 15 pubic Michigan universities
* Have at least a 3.0 GPA

vibe Credit Union FU$E Scholarship
FU$E account holders are eligible for one of five $1,000 college scholarships* given out each year to qualified high school seniors who plan to continue their education at a university, college, or technical school. The scholarships will be awarded to students who demonstrate character, concern for the community and scholastic commitment.
To be considered, you must complete our online application and return it along with any additional required information by May 2 of your senior year. Want in? Here's what you need to do:
- Be a Vibe Credit Union member in good standing for a minimum of two years
- Maintain at least an average 3.0 GPA
- Perform a minimum of 20 hours of community service during your junior/senior years

2015 Robert A. Schuele Scholarship Application
The Robert A. Schuele Scholarship Fund was established to honor the life of a friend, a family man, and a business professional. The intention of the Robert A. Schuele Scholarship Fund is to grant a scholarship award in an amount that will secure the attendance of a student at a major college or university in Michigan. The Trustees are searching for an applicant who has outstanding character, demonstrated commitment to academic studies, significant financial need and who will take advantage of the mentoring and networking resources the Trustees intend to offer to maximize the recipients educational experience.
1. At least a 2.85 (on a 4.0 scale) cumulative high school G.P.A. (or its equivalent, to be submitted as a sealed transcript) or an 18 composite A.C.T. score for first-time freshman; or scores of 400 or more in each of the following SAT categories: Critical Reading; Mathematics and Writing.
2. Demonstrate need for financial assistance;
3. Intend full-time college student status;
4. Unrestricted academic standing with the university or college with which courses will be taken (e.g., no academic suspensions) is required as a result of this scholarship; and,
5. A high school senior who is a member in good standing at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland & Macomb Counties OR a high school senior attending Berkley, Birmingham, Clawson, Ferndale, Hazel Park, Madison, Lamphere, Oak Park, Royal Oak, Southfield, Southfield-Lathrup and Romeo Public Schools are eligible to apply.

B. Davis Scholarship
JUNIORS AND SENIORS are eligible to apply for this $1,000 scholarship.
- Be sure to include your name and the school you are attending this year and next
- This is not an academic scholarship but we would like to know where you are going to school now and what your future academic plans are.
- Please do not send transcripts or letters of recommendation at this time
Write an essay of less than 1000 words on this topic: Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most. Discuss why you believe that these traits are so important and how you feel that are developed in an individual.
Email your essay to awards@studentawardsearch.com along with your name, the school you attend, and the school you plan to attend next year. Entries must be submitted by May 25th, 2015.
Tri-Community Coalition 2015 Scholarship
A $1000 scholarship will be awarded to a total of 6 students who are Berkley and Oak Park High School seniors who meet the following criteria:
• Has made a commitment to be drug/alcohol free.
• Has actively participated for at least one year in the Y.O.U. Chapter at their school.
• Resides in Berkley, Oak Park, or Huntington Woods or attends schools in Berkley or Oak Park.
• Must be a student with 12th grade credits
Applications are available in the Counseling Office. All materials are due to Mrs. Weiss by May 29, 2015.
Leavitt Machinery Scholarship Program
This $500 scholarship is for a student that is currently enrolled or expects to be enrolled in a degree program (2 years in length or greater) by September 2015 and who has a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Aspiring Fashion Professional Scholarship
Odenza Vacations College Scholarship
1) Be between the ages of 17 and 24 on September 1st, 2015
2) Submit answer to the essay question, which can be found on the application page, prior to the June 1st, 2015 deadline.

Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program
JUNIORS and SENIORS – Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants will be awarding up to $1,000 to the student who best answers the following question in 500-1000 words: Describe your educational career and life goals. Explain your plan for achieving these goals. Include your degree/major, why you selected it, and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals.

10 Words or Less Scholarsharship
To be eligible for the 10 Words or Less Scholarship a student must:
1) Anyone who is between the ages of 14-25 who will be attending school in the Fall of 2015.

Sigma Phi Epsilon Balanced Man Scholarship
The Ohio Gamma Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon is offering Balanced Man Scholarships totaling $5,000 to outstanding freshman men entering The Ohio State University next fall.

Applicants for this scholarship must be a Michigan resident between the ages of 17-22, and be able to demonstrate financial need due to a parent’s catastrophic injury/death in a Michigan work-related accident covered by workers’ compensation.

Jewish Educational Loan Service
JELS is funded through a partnership of more than 80 private funds and philanthropic service organizations and JELS loans are interest free. To be eligible for a JELS loan you must be…
· A Jewish resident of the metro Detroit area
· A full-time student pursuing an undergraduate, graduate or professional education at an accredited college or university
· Making satisfactory academic progress toward a career objective
· Able to document financial need after obtaining maximum financial assistance through the school
· Attending a Michigan educational institution (unless a comparable education is not available in Michigan).

BEWARE OF SCHOLARHIP SCAMS!!!
You should never have to enter credit card or banking information to be awarded a scholarship. Organizations offering scholarships can cut you a check or send the funds directly to the school you plan to attend. You should also never have to pay a company for “guaranteed” scholarship awards.
Tuition Incentive Program (TIP)
If you were/are Medicaid eligible for 24 months within a 36 consecutive month period since approx. age 9 or 10, you could be eligible for TIP. Phase I of TIP covers the cost of tuition and mandatory fees up to 24 credit hours in any academic year. Allowable mandatory fees are registration, technology, and student activity fees up to a maximum of $250 per semester/term. TIP does not cover the cost of books, lab, parking, or specific course fees, housing, or meal expenses. Phase II of TIP covers up to $500 per semester or $400 per term, for a total of $2,000. If you meet criteria, you must apply for TIP prior to graduation. If you have questions or would like to inquire about eligibility, call 1-888-4-GRANTS or visit the SSG website www.michigan.gov/ssg.
Children of Veterans Tuition Grant
The Children of Veterans Tuition Grant Act is designed to provide undergraduate tuition assistance to certain children older than 16 and less than 26 years of age who have been Michigan residents for the 12 months prior to application. To be eligible, a student must be the natural or adopted child of a Michigan veteran. The veteran must have been a legal resident of Michigan immediately before entering military service and did not later reside outside of Michigan for more than 2 years; or the veteran must have established legal residency in Michigan after entering military service. Police Officer's and Fire Fighter's Survivors Tuition Program
This program was established to provide a waiver at state public institutions of higher education for children and surviving spouses of Michigan police officers and fire fighters killed in the line of duty. Eligible children must be the natural or adopted child of the deceased and must be under the age of 21 at the time of the police officer's or fire fighter's death. Student must be enrolled at least ½ time in a program of study leading to a degree or certificate. Student must be an undergraduate. Student must be a Michigan resident. Student must demonstrate financial need.
