Mrs. Bearden's Weekly Update
October 11, 2021
Dear Eagle Canyon Families,
Our Baskin-Robbins Scoop Night was a huge success! Thank you to the families who supported the fundraiser and to the teachers who volunteered their time to scoop. It was fun to see everyone outside of school. On a side note, I have a whole new appreciation for people who work in ice cream shops. :)
PARENT SQUARE
Have you downloaded the Parent Square app yet? It is the best way to stay in touch with Eagle Canyon updates. I use it to send weekly updates, periodic reminders, as well as private messages to families. One of the great features is a link library. Currently, I have links to COVID testing resources in the library. I will add more links throughout the year. Check out the pictures below to find out how you can access this information.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mrs. Bearden
thinknlocal Fundraiser
Thank you to the families and staff members who have supported our Thinknlocal fundraiser. Our fundraiser ends this weekend on Sunday, October 10th. Please continue to upload your receipts from the participating businesses.

It is a free service for our community members. Symptoms are not required for testing and appointments can be made at https://lhi.care.covidtesting.
Please enter the parking lot using Monte Vista Ave. Testers will not be allowed to walk through the Adult School Campus.
PARENTS ON CAMPUS
Parents attending pre-arranged meetings, such as parent/teacher conferences, IEP meetings, EL Parent Meetings, as well as School Site Council Meetings do not have to provide vaccination or Negative COVID test results if there are not any students attending the meeting.
Parents, out of safety for everyone, please do not enter campus gates before or after school.
We appreciate your cooperation.
PBIS
Part of the framework includes a Multi-Tiered System of Support for Academics and Behavior. Tier 1 describes the supports teachers and school staff provide daily whether it is in the classroom or on the playground. Tier 2 describes supports teachers and school staff provide in smaller groups, while Tier 3 is more intensive and might be more individualized.
Our MTSS-B Counselor, Ms. Kadlec, provides small group behavioral support with a curriculum-based program. Students who need additional support in being responsible, being respectful, or being safe benefit from this curriculum to better understand themselves and to learn strategies to be more successful.
If you believe your child would benefit from this type of support, you can request assistance. Click on the Gold Award to access the link.
Eagle Canyon Service Project
We are happy to collect the pop tabs every week. You can send them with your children.
Support Eagle Canyon
A popular fundraising opportunity all families can support is Box Tops. Download the Box Top app on your phone. All you have to do is scan your receipts on the Box Top app within 14 days of the purchase. The app will let you know if any of the items purchased qualify. If so, we earn 10 cents per product.
As of today, our school has earned $27.40 this year. Our goal is to earn $1,000.00. If you also get the coupons, please turn them in to the school office. Thank you in advance for your support!
Literature Day Parade
Students will be able to dress up as their favorite book character in our second Literature Day parade. They must have the book with them for the parade. Please adhere to the following guidelines for the Fall Family Festival and Literature Day Parade:
No Masks, No Scary Costumes, and No Toy Weapons. Please dress in costumes that are tasteful and appropriate for elementary school-aged children. Students not following the dress code may be asked to change into regular clothes and/or go home.
If the costume is questionable, please seek approval from the administration prior to the event.
Parents will not be able to attend the Literature Day parade in person. We will have a camera set up so you can watch it live via Zoom.
