UDHS Community Update
March 7, 2024
Cardinal Pride
Good afternoon, UDHS Family,
We have now reached the halfway point in the third marking period and interim grades are available in Infinite Campus. Be sure to visit Infinite Campus or Schoology to receive an update on student progress. Should you have any questions and have not already been in contact with your child’s teacher, please reach out to discuss and look for ways to promote student success. We greatly appreciate the partnership in education we have with our parents and guardians.
On Friday of last week Officers Lavenberg and Rowland came into Mr. Breish's Forensics class. They spoke to the class about how to secure and search a crime scene and then taught students how to properly dust for fingerprints. It was a great, interactive lesson and we appreciate the help of our police department.
Keystone Exams will be administered on May 14 - 17 in the morning at the high school. More information will follow and a letter will be mailed home to all students taking the assessments.
The high school is excited about our annual "March Attendance Madness" competition. This is an attendance competition among the Period 1 Red and Period 1 Gray classes. Each week (bracket style) two classes will go head-to-head to see which class has the highest percentage of attendance. In single elimination, Period 1 classes will progress on an actual bracket until an overall winner is determined at the end of six weeks. The tournament will run from February 12 - March 22. The two winning Period 1 classes will receive a catered breakfast the week after spring break. Thank you to our school-wide PBIS committee for sponsoring this event.

Our annual Music in Our Schools Concerts are extraordinary celebrations of our music at Upper Dublin. The Vocal Concert will take place on March 14 and Strings Concert on March 19. While the vocal night is sold out, tickets still remain for the instrumental evening, so please purchase your tickets by scanning the QR code. This will be an unforgettable event you do not want to miss.
Athletics
Thank you to Mr. Heiland for his update on UDHS athletics.
Before we send shoutouts to our athletes and teams competing in state tournaments, please take a moment to watch the following video. The video is produced by "Officially Human" whose mission is to restore respect to sports officials. The way that we are treating officials is driving them away and high school and youth sports are in desperate times. At the current rate of attrition, students in our elementary schools run the risk of not having high school athletics to participate in.
