CIMS Weekly Update
Week of February 25, 2024
🌎 Weekly Reflection & Information 🌎
Good afternoon CIMS parents, guardians, and family members. This is Mrs. Masciotra with the weekly update.
This week, we would like for you to help us with after school supervision and pick up.
Continuing this week, the playground and outdoor areas will be swept by our staff. Students will not be permitted to stay outdoors or at the playground after 4:10pm. These areas are unsupervised and unsafe behaviors are taking place, so these areas will no longer be accessible to students. Please plan to pick up your student on time.
Additionally, please ask your student about iStation and iXL. Students in all five grades have independent practice to complete in either of these platforms, with weekly goals to meet. We look forward to celebrating your student for meeting these goals.
Next week, we will continue our IB focus with specifics regarding the Middle Years Programme.
🌎 This week 🌎
Congratulations to CIMS Wrestling for bringing home 8 placers at the City Championship, Mrs. Pineda-Fuentes for having 25 CIMS band and orchestra students at the All City Concert, and JV and Varsity Girls Basketball for winning tough playoff games last Friday!
Monday is a formal uniform day for all students. This includes a white button up shirt, tie or sweater vest. On Monday evening, Girls Basketball plays in the City Championship at EHS at 4:45pm and NAL competes at CIMS @ 5:30pm. CIMS participants in the Regional STEM Fair will present their projects on Monday evening.
On Thursday, awards will be held for the Regional STEM Fair.
On Saturday, we are hosting our annual Corn Hole Tournament and Kid's Alley Craft Fair. Both events are open to the public for shopping, watching, and supporting CIMS! If you are registered for either event, you'll receive a message from us this week with important information.
The Spring Scholastic Book Fair opens this week! Students can shop before school, during lunch and after school.
Any middle school student interested in participating in Track must clear by March 18th. All forms are available in the main office.
Yearbooks are still for sale. See the website and code below to order.
That concludes our announcements. Have a great evening.
