Instructional Focus
As we prepare our scholars for CA's let ensure that we have conversations in which they set goals for success. CA#2 gives us a very good idea of the work needed to be done, to get our scholars where they need to be. Have the conversation with your scholars and make sure they know what this assessment means to them.
Planning Meetings
This week Tuesday and Thursday let's ensure we are addressing what our scholars are misunderstanding and how we can close that gap, dig into our lessons for the week, discuss the exit ticket, and ensure that it is aligned.

Word Consciousness/ IB
IB
This week Ms. Young’s Gamecocks will help us understand the significance and application of a new IB attitude, Creativity. Those who exemplify this attitude are creative and imaginative in their thinking and in their approach to problems and dilemmas. Below are some ideas for morning meeting topics to discuss with your scholars this week:
- We see creativity in lots of different areas. Discuss how you are creative in art and drama. How does it feel when you are creative?
- Is creativity only limited to the arts? How can creativity help us in our content areas as well?
- We thought about how creativity helps us in art, drama, and other content areas. How can creativity help us problem solve when we have problems with others?
- How do world leaders rely on creativity in tackling some of our biggest world problems, such as running out of natural resources such as oil to power our buildings, cars, and planes?
- How can you show creativity today in approaching problems or new ideas?

Scholar Attendance
Attendance Contest
As you all know, having scholars present at school each day is extremely important for their growth and achievement. It is also important that they are present because it affects our school funding! In order to invest scholars in their attendance, we will be starting a monthly competition for the grade level with the best attendance. Each week, I will include a snapshot of the attendance percentages for each grade and the grade level with the highest percentage by the end of the month will earn a teacher and scholar free dress day!
And the winner for the month of November is……4th grade!
Kinder 95.40%
First 97.12%
Second 96.22%
Third 96.09%
Fourth 97.96%
Fifth 97.62%
