PANTHER NEWS
APRIL, 2024
Welcome to SPRING!!!
Dear Panther Families,
This Spring, we are embarking on a reading challenge for our PANTHERS and we need your support. Please continue to read with your child at home every night. Reading is not only fundamental to academic success but also a wonderful way for families to bond. By making reading a part of your evening routine, you are not only helping your child become a better reader but also creating lasting memories. Remember, READERS are LEADERS!
As we approach the end of the school year, please remind your child(ren) of the importance of staying academically focused and following our PANTHER PLEDGE. Your support in reinforcing classroom and school rules is invaluable. Remember, students should be in school uniform Monday - Thursday. On Friday, students may wear their School Spirit shirt and jeans. Please note that SMART WATCHES and Bluetooth headphones are not permitted at school. Additionally, if your child brings a phone, it must be turned off and kept off and in their backpack during the school day.
It's crucial to monitor your child's technology use at home. While there are many websites that appear kid-friendly, children are just a click away from inappropriate content. Parental controls can be helpful, but nothing beats a parent's watchful eye. If your child uses social media, TikTok, YouTube, games, etc., please check their content regularly. Strangers online may pose as children when they are actually adults. Exposure to inappropriate content can lead to stress, anxiety, embarrassment, confusion, and inappropriate thoughts or actions. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Please take a moment to review our School Calendar & Testing Calendar located at the bottom of the APRIL NEWSLETTER. Remember, at our school, Panthers Believe, Achieve, and Succeed!
Warm Regards,
Dr. Cromwell

MUSIC WITH MS. BEGLEITER
Ms. Beglieter is teaching her 4th grade Panthers how to play a simple rhythmic pattern and apply the musical knowledge they have learned. Ms. Berkowitz's class truly loved recognizing musical patterns, playing as a class, and creating their own beats.
Art Class with Mrs. Barica
This unit’s STEAM lesson took our 4th and 5th grade students into space! Ms. Disney’s 4th grade students learned how to use chalk pastels to create a solar eclipse with special effects, and they also learned about the phases of the moon by creating their own flip book. Students were also engaged in using iPads, the 3D Z-Space computer and coming up with creations of their own at the free choice station.
