The Weekly
Elizabeth Ide Elementary School
A Message from your Principal, Mrs. Katie Johnson
Dear Elizabeth Ide Families,
This year, we're transforming our traditional events (VIP day and Open House) into a brand new celebration: The Night with the PRIDE! Join Elizabeth Ide on Thursday, May 2nd for an evening showcasing the amazing things happening at our school. Come anytime between 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM to fit your family's needs.
- Embark on a Scavenger Hunt specific to each grade level, designed just for you, filled with fun finds around the school.
- Discover Your STEM Superpowers in the LRC where you'll find activities that will make you laugh and learn about science, technology, engineering, and math!
- Unleash your creativity in the art room and create a masterpiece that represents you and your family.
- Scholastic Book Fair: Stock up on exciting reads at the PTO-sponsored Scholastic Book Fair.
- Capture the Memories: Create lasting moments with photo opportunities throughout the evening.
- Food Trucks on Site: Refuel and socialize with fellow Lion families at the food trucks. We are trying to get an interest level for each item so each Food Truck has enough food to support our event. Please sign up below if you are interested. YOU WILL PAY AT THE TRUCK ON 5/2.
We hope to see you there!
Progress Reports
On April 19th, progress reports will be sent home with students who are not meeting grade level expectations. If you do not receive a progress report for your child, and would like to discuss your child's growth/progress, I encourage you to reach out to your child's teacher directly. Open communication between home and school is essential in supporting students' academic progress, and the teacher will be more than happy to provide the necessary information and support. We are committed to working closely with families to ensure that every student's needs are addressed, and your proactive involvement is invaluable in this process.
School Supply Kits
One-stop shopping for your school supplies! TEAM 66 is working with The Write Stuff again to host a school supply kit sale. Go to www.write-stuff.com/storefront/school/TEAM66 and start shopping. Kits will be available for early pick-up in August or delivered to classrooms upon request if ordered by 6/2. Orders placed after 6/2 will be available for shipping to home for a delivery fee. See the flier for more details!

Volunteers Needed
Are you passionate about your child's educational experience? Look no further than volunteering with the TEAM66!
Operating as both the district’s PTO and an Education Foundation, we play a vital role in advocating for our children, fostering a sense of belonging and community, and providing essential resources for their growth and development. We have several opportunities for parents to get involved with our organization and its activities – from our Executive Board to our numerous Event Committees in each of the three schools.
Check out the link below to view all our opportunities and pick the one that’s right for you! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at team66@ccsd66.org.

April & May Events at IDE
Attendance
Please remember to either call the attendance line (630-783-5199). If you are unable to do so and email the classroom teacher, please also include Ms. Sorn in the email about any absences. This will avoid getting a call from the office and it helps if there are substitutes in a class.
It is also important to include Ms. Sorn in any transportation changes.
Technology Support
CCSD66 has replaced our old helpdesk system, SchoolDude, and want to make sure you're aware of how to get tech support! Please use the updated link below if you need support from our CCSD66 Technology Department.
If you submitted a ticket in SchoolDude and have not received a response, please submit it again using the new system. We want to make sure nothing is dropped. Have a great day!
