Terra Linda Tiger Tale
May 21, 2021
Principal's Message
Dear Terra Linda Families,
I learned some new information this week about Camp Achieve Summer School scheduled this summer.
Camp Achieve will be at Terra Linda and will run from July 6th though July 29th, Monday through Thursday from 9:15am-1:15pm. Please note the new times. There will be many enrichment activities that will take place along with academic learning. A few of the vendors that are providing the activities include i9 Sports, Legarza Sports, Lovejoy Workshop, Love Laugh Love Art Studio, Art World School, and Chess Wizards to name a few.
The application for Camp Achieve will open on Wednesday, May 26th and is due by Friday, June 4th. This year we will be having a lottery for getting into Camp Achieve as space is limited. If you would like help filling out the application, please call the office at 503 356-2490 and we will be happy to help you.
I am hoping that Club K, the daycare that rents space at Terra Linda, will also be at Terra Linda this summer to provide care before and after camp for those who would like to sign up. They would also operate on Fridays.
If you are interested in sending your student to Camp Achieve this summer, be sure to fill out the application by Friday, June 4th.
Calendar Reminder
Wednesday, June 2 is a regular school day. To accommodate Grab & Go, Outdoor Library, and Meal Box Pick-up, we are moving that time to 11:45am to 12:30pm.

Field Day will happen most of the month of June. Starting the first week of June, Mr. D has several events students will do during their PE Zoom classes. Most of the equipment you need to participate in Field Day can be found around home. Students attending In Person will take home additional supplies next week. Students on Full CDL can pick up these supplies on Wednesday, May 26 during Grab & Go (or anytime Thursday or Friday next week from the main office). Our theme this year will be Summer Olympics Field Day. The students will receive a bronze, silver, or gold certificate based upon their participation.
Rent Assistance Information
Dear Terra Linda Families,
The Oregon eviction protections are set to expire at the end of June. This means renters will need to pay back rent that's still due. The state started taking applications yesterday for additional rental assistance through the Oregon Emergency Rent Assistance Program. People are eligible if at least one person in the household had a financial impact from the pandemic (a lost job, decrease in income), and their household income is at or below 80% of the area's median income (about $77,000 for a family of 4 in the Portland metro area, or $51,000 in rural communities).
Tenants can be approved for up to 12 months of past-due rent, and three months' upcoming rent. The payments will go directly to landlords, property owners, and utility companies.
The money will be allocated based on need, so everyone who applies for the program will go through a review process.
Assistance is offered to all renters, regardless of citizenship or immigration status.
