Campus Security Reminder
NB has implemented a fully closed campus. What this means is that when the gates open in the morning at 7:35 AM, any adults wishing to walk students to breakfast or their classroom, will need to check into the main office first for a pass. Additionally, this means that only students will be allowed through the ramp gate off of North Broadway. After school, adults joining us for meetings, or special events will need to check into the main office to obtain a guest pass.

California Healthy Kids Survey
EUSD will be administering the California Healthy Kids Survey to 5th-graders and 7th-graders beginning April 2 through April 19. The California Healthy Kids Survey is an anonymous, confidential survey of school climate and safety, and student health and wellness. The survey results assist schools with planning prevention and wellness programs that support the health and well-being of students and a positive school learning environment. Meet our NB Classified of the Year for 2023-2024
On Friday, 3/8, we announced that Kim Jackson, our Office Clerk, is the North Broadway Classified Employee of the Year for 23-24. Kim started at NB in 2014 when her now sophomore was in 1st grade with PTA doing the yearbook. She quickly moved into a substitute Noon Time Supervisor and school clerk position in 2014. She was hired permanently at NB as an NTS in 2017. She knew right away that she wanted to be permanently in the office. She says she was hired for her dream job in 2019. Kim says " I love this job every day-the kids, the staff, the parents! I feel at home at NB, and I do everything I can to make everyone’s experience at NB the best it can be! I am proud to be a Bronco!!" We are proud to have Kim represent North Broadway as the Classified Employee of the Year for her hard work and dedication.

Positive Behavior Intervention & Support (PBIS) Highlight
Our growing school-wide rewards program was able to offer the opportunity for students to visit with some special furry friends this month! The incredible volunteers from Love on a Leash brought several of their service dogs to our campus for another visit. Students were able to use their Bronco points and purchase a spot to hang out with the dogs during their lunchtime. We will have one more opportunity for students to purchase this special Bronco Store prize as the dogs are coming for their final visit for the year on May 24th.
Pictured below are other fun Bronco Store prizes available to our students!

As another impactful Season for Nonviolence comes to a close at North Broadway, we would like to acknowledge the hard work and support of our Peace Patrol members during this campaign. These amazing student leaders served as role models for their peers by promoting peace and kindness through their respectful words and helpful actions. They were integral to the campaign's success and worked to promote the message of peace through morning announcements, recess and lunch activities, as well as assemblies. Great work, Peace Patrol!
EUSD Framework for the Future: Learner Profile
In the last trimester of the year, we would like to share our new EUSD Learning Model. We strive to offer learning experiences that are personalized, authentic, competency-based, inclusive and equitable. This is the learning model NB is using in our School Redesign. Our Elective Wheel is a good example of a current authentic learning experience. In our STEM wheel class, students learn to program robots to accomplish a task. In this activity, students use mathematical thinking, critical thinking, collaboration and problem solving skills. In Musical Theater, students practice theater skills like improv and tableau. These skills help students with public speaking and expression while gaining exposure to the skills and talents of Broadway Musical artists.
