Weekly Campus and Principal Update
Due Friday to N105 and...
Please turn in accommodation trackers and IEP goal updates from the first six weeks to N105 by Friday this week.
ARD season has officially started. We count on you to provide requested information in a timely manner, to attend ARD meetings when invited, and to partner with our case managers toward student success.
PTSA Memberships
Over half of our staff has already joined our PTSA. In our last board meeting, our PTSA president stated that a staff member joining means that we support the PTSA activities and work on our campus. Your membership dues of $12 may be turned into the PTSA mailbox. Each staff member mailbox will soon have a partipation sign posted. We are a large majority of the membership for our campus, and I thank you for showing your appreciation of our parents by joining now.
Happy Birthday to our September Babies!
Congratulations to Reagan Allen, Mary Brieske, Charlene Broaden, April Coronado, Jana Fry, Sandy Hoge, Patricia Irias, and Matt Zellner! Better late than never, we wish you all the best for a wonderful new year!
The Princeton Review PSAT ~ SUCCESS!
A heartfelt thank you to Ms. Kecia Theodore for her hard work, coordination, and her Saturday on the practice PSAT given on Saturday! Not only did many of our students participate, but also our campus activity account grew leaps and bounds! Bela Menon was a big help in collecting $, checking students in, and helping our parents with information, too! Additional opportunities will be made available in the spring.
Training this Week ~ check email today
Trainings will take place simultaneously on Tuesday, October 1st at 4:20pm and Wednesday, October 2nd at 8:15am. Teacher rosters are in Ms. Trevino's email today. PLAN/PSAT will train in the library with Doug Flores. CogAT will train in the library viewing room with Mike Stephens and Faith Novotny.
Graduation Mindset Update
Our campus initiative, Graduation Mindset, will be presented to the board tomorrow. There is growing interest in our school community in our project, and PESH has designated an SBIC Action Committe with the same name who will be partnering with us to carry our efforts further. While we have made efforts in the past, this is the first time that students have a context to frame and link their learning. Thank you for your efforts in making this meaningful for our students. Please find a way to incorporate the Learning Styles module into a classroom lesson or discussion this week. Here's a link to an article published TODAY about our initiative in the Dallas Morning News!
