New Instagram Series-- CTE Student of the Week
We are excited to announce a new series on our Instagram page, "CTE Student of the Week." Our CTE students accomplish amazing things on a daily basis and this series will help highlight that.
First CTE Student of the Week
Our first student we will be acknowledging is 11th grade student, Julian! Julian is a Biotechnology Pathway student who is currently completing his 2nd year at the Boz Institute. Guided by Ms. Harrington, Julian is conducting his own research where he is attempting to grow a fungus that he isolated and then sequence the DNA so that he can identify the species.
Congrats, Julian!
Upcoming: Annual CTE End of the Year Banquet
We are eager for our 2nd annual CTE End of the Year Banquet, which will be taking place on May 2nd.
This annual banquet recognizes our CTE completers and all of their accomplishments for the school year. Seniors receive their pathway completer sashes which they can proudly wear during graduation. Students should expect to receive invitations to this event in the next couple of weeks.
Check out some exciting updates from our CTE pathways below!
First Official Pop-Up Event!
Our Business students ended Spring Semester 1 on a high note! They were able to debut their new products and businesses through their first pop-up shop of the year. Some businesses also began taking orders!
We are so proud of our students for all the preparation they put into this event! It was a huge success.
Upcoming: Journey to Impact!
Journey to Impact is back on April 20th! We are teaming up with Dreams+Ducats and Good Faith Gallery for a day of community, culture, and conversation at the Quartyard in San Diego.
Enjoy music, workshops, live art, raffles, resources, giveaways and get a chance to see our Business pathway students in action as they showcase their items!
Students will be discussing social media and exploring systemic solutions for improving its effects on young people everywhere!

Career and Technical Education (CTE)
CTE prepares secondary, postsecondary and adult students with technical, academic and employability skills for success in the workplace and in further education.
On February 23, 1917, the Smith-Hughes National Vocational Education Act was signed into law, launching the Federal investment in CTE. Since then, federal CTE policy has evolved in response to changing U.S. economic and social conditions.
Explore - Develop - Gain - Earn
Helix EDGE is an opportunity for students to gain a Career Technical Education (CTE) that consists of a multi-year sequence of academic and technical courses to prepare students for a full range of post-secondary options.
