Are a great distraction
There are 3 types of distractions while driving, cognitive, visual, and manual. Texting and driving is notorious for being all 3 types of distractions, all at once. The dangers are very dangerous and can affect anyone. There was a study conducted and that study showed that most people complain when they see adults being distracted, but have excuses for their own reckless behavior. That shows that some people aren’t taking this as seriously as it should and that should be a worry.

More phones = More crashes
This article looked at the correlation of more phones equals more wrecks. The CDC said that distracted driving kills about 9 people a day and injures hundreds of others. Daily. Many of those were phone related. Also, the NSC released data of how 27 percent of crashes were phone related in 2013. Cell phone use is another deadly distraction, now that cell phone use is more common, it becomes yet another distraction.

- 5 seconds is the minimal amount spent on a text, if your driving 55 mph for 5 seconds, you just went the course of a football field without looking.
- Messaging makes you 23X more likely to crash, while dialing is 2.8X and reaching for the device 1.4X
- 13% of drivers aged 18-20 admitted to using a cell phone at the time of the crash
