Young Entrepreneur Speaks to Rutland High School Students
Shane Buerster, owner of Z Beans Coffee in Mercer Village, spoke to marketing and financial Literacy students about the process of starting his own business. He got the idea for Z Beans while on a Mercer Missions trip to Ecuador where he met a coffee bean grower. Mr. Buerster started Z Beans while a senior at Mercer University through an incubator space at the Mercer Innovation Center. His business has grown to include online sales and two storefronts with a third storefront in the works. Each bag of coffee sold has a card inside that links the customer to the farmer that grew the beans in that particular bag. Mr. Buerster also spoke to students about goal setting, traits of a successful entrepreneur, and how he markets his business.
