Pleasantville HS Students attend Westchester Youth Leadership Conference.
On February 15th, four Pleasantville HS students, Connor Day, Nick Natale, Nick Reich and Louis Sdao attended a Westchester County Youth Leadership Conference. This event was sponsored by the Office of Drug Abuse Prevention in collaboration with the Westchester County Youth Bureau. Students listened to dynamic speakers and collaborated with HS students from all over the county on ideas for influencing their friends and classmates to make healthy, safe choices. The conference had a focus on becoming informed about the health risks of vaping and encouraged students to amplify their voices in getting involved in causes that are meaningful to them around teen mental health and making positive choices about vaping and other unhealthy, dangerous behaviors. There were over 200 students in attendance! Pleasantville STRONG provided the bus to transport the kids to the conference. A huge thank you to the students for attending and learning about the dangers of vaping and sharing what you learned with your peers.
