Gas Chambers In the Camps
By Chiku Patil
Role In the Holocaust
Gas chambers were located in the concentration and death camps in Europe in order to execute Hitlers plan, exterminating the Jewish population. Hitler and his army would round up Jews from different towns and send them to concentration camps to be killed. The Holocaust started in 1933 and over 11 million people were murdered in the Holocaust, 6 million of them being Jewish. Adolf Hitler also targeted homosexuals, Gypsies, and the mentally disabled. Hitler blamed the Jews for all the misfortune that Germany faced after WWI. The Holocaust was put to an end in 1945 when the allied powers defeated the Nazis.
Gas Chamber
Millions of Jews were crammed in gas chambers across Europe. They would be told that they're only taking a community shower but were then killed as poisonous gas filled the room
Crematorium
Since the Nazis were killing Jews at such a rapid rate, they didn't have much time to dispose of the bodies. Instead the Nazis burnt the bodies of the Jews into ashes with the crematoriums in the camps. This was the most efficient way to dispose of the bodies in Hitler's "Final Solution"
