Principals' Update
Greetings MacArthur Families,
Students participated in our ALICE safety drill this morning. Please see the earlier communication at 2:30pm today for more information. The drill was quick and students returned to learning swiftly after it was completed. I am so appreciative of the work of our entire MacArthur team to support students' physical and emotional safety during these practice drills. The trusting relationships built between students and adults at MacArthur are not fostered by accident, they are developed through the intentional work of our faculty and staff to support each individual student in our care. We take great pride in this work and know that it serves as the foundation for our work to help our students grow as learners and citizens.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Multicultural Festival yesterday! It was a phenomenal event that incorporated so many members of our community. We were so excited to have so many families share their own cultural experience or join to participate in the fun! A special thank you to Mrs. South, Ms. Evans, Ms. Vlachos, Ms. Cohen and Mrs. Brogna for their help in planning this event. We are so excited to see this event continue to grow and have penciled in November 14, 2024 for next year's Multicultural Festival.
Please send in any remaining MacArthur Kindness Boomerangs by Monday, November 20th. We will be doing our final tally to see which class and grade level completed the most acts of kindness throughout the month of November! Looking to complete more? Here's the Link to find a copy.
Congratulations to Mrs. McCue, our Physical Education Teacher, and her family on the birth of her son Teddy! Ms. Katelyn Samios will be Mrs. McCue's long term substitute for her parental leave. Ms. Samios previously completed a long term substitute role already this year at Northeast Elementary School and will be here for the next few months.
Finally, a reminder about next week's schedule. Wednesday 11/22 is an early, early release day for Thanksgiving! School will close at 11:45am. Lunch will be provided. School will be closed on Thursday, 11/23 and Friday, 11/24. School will resume on Monday 11/27. Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday! Have a wonderful weekend!
