Hawkeye & Michelle’s 10,000 for the Troops
As of last year, we have participated with radio station, 96.3. who partners with Support Our Soldiers to send holiday cards to the brave men and women overseas serving and protecting our country.
Hawkeye & Michelle’s 10,000 for the Troops, is back and the goal is to collect 10,000 cards. We cannot do this without your help.
Card collections will take place starting now through Monday, November 21.
We are looking for all types of cards: homemade or store-bought cards are all okay!
Here’s some important information you need to know when putting your cards together:
NO ENVELOPES – please do not put your cards in individual envelopes.
NO PERSONAL INFORMATION – please do not include your phone number, address, email address, social media handles, etc. on your cards.
NO FOOD – please do not attach any food items, including candy, to your cards.
NO GLITTER – it’s just messy.
Bring to school and we will collect them in classes and in the office.
Let's do this!
STEM
They follow multiple step instructions, collaborate, take turns, listen, give feedback, and enjoy having responsibilities.
This is evident in STEM and in all classes.

One and Done Signs!
For all the families that donated $100 or more to the One-and-Done Fundraiser, the CHE yard signs have arrived!
You can pick up your sign on Wednesday, 11/9, from 2:30 to 5:30 in the picnic table area by the CHE playground.
We realize that not everyone will be able to pick up their sign at this designated time so look for further communications about where you can pick up your sign after 11/9.
Thank you again to everyone who donated to One-and-Done! Your support and generosity is greatly appreciated!

Digital Citizenship 4th and 5th grade
Based on conversations overheard amongst students, specific areas that have been reviewed with students are the following:
- Unplugging from their devices
- Not sending messages to their classmates too late or too early in the morning to respect others’ schedules and bedtimes,
- Another area covered is to not ask students personal questions or anything that could be considered embarrassing or personal in chat or by other electronic means.
We think they know NOT to do this, but they need explicit directions.
In my house, all phones, computers, tablets are not in bedrooms. It has helped with my child's focus in the morning due to a good night's sleep and she is not sucked in to drama or FOMO from all the posts.
Also I have spoken to my child that information shared with one person means it has been shared with many- easily and quickly - and it spreads like wildfire.
Please consider having conversations about the boundaries you expect from your child when it comes to these areas. Especially help them script how they would answer if they are asked something that is personal.
