A Note from Mrs. Cockrell
Dear Chisholm Trail Families,
I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend and are ready for another great week. Last week’s Pre-K and Kinder registration went very well and we enjoyed getting to meet some of our new learners. If you have a student who will be in Pre-K or Kindergarten this fall and you have not already registered them, please make an appointment to come to campus to get them registered. You can call Mrs. Weatherly at 940-458-5297 or email Mrs. Hallmark at jhallmark@sangerisd.net. This is very important as we plan staff for next year. Also, if you have any neighbors or know of any other Sanger families who have Pre-K or Kindergarteners who need to get registered, let them know they can call the campus to set up an appointment.
If you have a current Kindergarten, First grade, or Second grade student, you will receive your registration code and online registration information very soon. The registration for RETURNING students will open May 3rd. This registration for RETURNING Kindergarten, First and Second grade students will be all online.
As a reminder, please do not drop your child off prior to 7:35. I understand that morning schedules can get hectic, but we have staff on duty at 7:35 to welcome children into the building. We appreciate your help with this.
Have you ever heard of summer slide? Well, it is not a piece of playground equipment. It is a real possibility for your children to lose some of the learning they have worked so hard to attain when they step into summer and do not spend time using the knowledge and skills they have developed during the school year. We want to help you make the summer slide as small as possible, so be on the lookout for some fun summer ideas to help you with this. We will be sharing some fun and easy ways to keep the learning going year round.
Thank you for sharing your children with us!

Dress Code Highlight: Jewelry and Piercings
As summer nears, it is time to revisit the Sanger ISD dress code. In the upcoming weeks, each section of the dress code will be highlighted to ensure that students are complying with the standards established by the district.
- Students may not wear any jewelry or similar artifacts that are obscene or distracting or that are likely to cause a disruption to the educational environment or may be used as a weapon.
- Students may not wear tongue piercings, facial jewelry (nose, lip, brow), or facial decorations (other than normal makeup). Spacers, spikes, gauges, cartilage bars, and mouth jewelry are not allowed.
- Males are not allowed to wear earrings (No band-aid covering).
- Tattoos including temporary tattoos and skin drawings must be covered at all times while students are under the school’s jurisdiction.
Arrival
Thank you for getting your students to school on time! Drop off time begins at 7:35 each morning. Staff will be available to supervise students at 7:35 so please do not allow students to walk up to the building before this time.
Each morning the back gate is closed at 7:45 when school begins. If you arrive to drop off your child and this gate is closed, there is no staff on duty in the back and the doors are locked. Any students arriving after 7:45 need to be dropped off and may enter the front of the school. Thanks for helping us ensure student safety!
Health Reminder
As we continue to work hard on campus to keep our children and staff safe, we are asking you to continue to be diligent in reporting to us when your student is either having symptoms, has been exposed, or has received a positive COVID-19 test result. Should you have questions, you may contact me at ccockrell@sangerisd.net or our nurse, Courtney Lynch at courtney.lynch@sangerisd.net.
Arrival/Dismissal
We appreciate that you have your car tags hanging on your mirror at dismissal. In the case of a forgotten tag, we will do an ID check as efficiently as possible, but we may ask you to pull up ahead of the line and wait for a moment.
