It’s been great to have students back in the classroom! This week we will continue working on nonfiction inferences and writing persuasive paragraphs. We will also be doing our Winter benchmark with NWEA testing. All work for this week can be found on Google Classroom.

Monday 12/7: No school work due to professional development for teachers
Tuesday 12/8 NWEA district assessment
Wednesday 12/9 NWEA district assessment and catchup on Goformatives (Lessons 1-3 should be turned in)
Thursday 12/10 Unit 5, Lesson 4: Adding and Subtracting with negatives to solve problems. Peardeck lesson and Goformative will be turned in.
Friday 12/11 Unit 5, Lesson 5: Position and direction as positive and negative numbers. Peardeck lesson and Goformative will be turned in.
Week at a Glance:
This week, students will continue adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing positive and negative numbers in Unit 5: Rational Numbers. Important vocabulary words and sample problems are available in the Family Newsletter from Open Up Resources.
Students should be using Edmentum ExactPath Math Learning Path for 15 minutes per day. Please check out this resource for more about Edmentum.
Students who do not have a 3 for one of the units can continue using the Retake Agenda to practice their skills.

Week at a Glance:
It is so nice having our students back in class! We reviewed our distance learning material and then jumped right back into finishing up Unit 2 over European Explorers.
Next week we will be testing over our learning target, reteaching, and enrichment activities.

Compare the reasons that Europeans wanted to explore and settle in the new world - explaining the similarities in the explorer's goals, and differences in the way they created settlements and treated the natives.
