A BIG SHOUT OUT of THANKS to EUREKA FARMS
On Tuesday, March 12th, all of our third graders traveled to Eureka Farms in Palmyra to learn about maple sugaring. We are grateful for co-owner and operator, Seth Edwards who gave the students an incredible tour. He showed the students how many buckets of sap it would take to make one gallon of maple syrup. Did you know that it takes 40 gallons? He also helped us identify maple trees and put a tap in a tree so the students could see the sap coming out. After learning the process for collecting the sap, we transitioned inside to see the process of boiling, filtering, and grading the maple syrup. It was a fabulous learning experience that inspired one student to say, "I want to do this when I grow up." That's what it's all about folks!
